The Txekri Guard (Sa'sseban: Zanurika Txekrimíso) is the military of Txekrikar. Though primarily a land-based force, its aviation corps, the Principality Air Guard, provides for the aerial defense of the nation. The Txekri Guard is independent of the Trellinese Empire's Armed Forces of the Sidereal Crown, but the extent of coordination and cooperation between the two makes the distinction minor.

History

The Txekri Guard was established from the unification of half a dozen earlier units in 1846, as a response to the Andamonian Revolution of 1844. Its first conflict was the Baira Debacle, fought between 1872 and 1875, in which it defended Txekrikar against Andamonia's provocation. The war ended in a stalemate and led the Txekri Guard to greatly increase its recruitment. By the 1880s, Txekrikar maintained a standing army of one hundred thousand. These numbers entered decline in the following decades, and in 1907 the principality became a client state of the Trellinese Empire. It was forced to renew its recruitment and modernisation drive when Trellin entered isolation in 1913, and at the outbreak of the Great Astyrian War the Txekri fleet was among the most modern in Astyria, fielding five Tasarin-class dreadnoughts.

Equipment

The Txekri Guard uses a range of equipment acquired from across Astyria. Its main suppliers are Arimathean and Trellinese companies, although much of its artillery is sourced from the Blackhelm Confederacy.
