William Edwardius I of Bethausia (William Albert Emmanuel Edwardius; 18 May 1879 – 18 September 1965) was the husband and consort of Judit Valpuri Yadanar, Grand Duchess of Bethausia.

He was born in the Hanover to Prince George, Duke of Caernarvon and to commoner, Saori Minase, Duchess of Caernarvon. In his early age, he was close with Regis, Prince of Lucis, a few years his senior. The two held a very close bond with each other and even going as far as serving in the army alongside each other. When his cousin became King, he acted as his adviser and his aide. When the United Kingdom was dragged to the Tarhaaja War, William became the Lucis Army's Commander in the field but only committed a handful of troops. His brother hoped to secure an alliance with an Asianna nation in the case of Quenminese aggression, which had persisted since the 1870s. It was here where he met Judit.

William helped numerous Bethausian officials evacuate, including Judit and arrived in Insomnia. At the age of 26, he married future Grand Duchess Judit; they had five children. Initially he felt constrained by his role of consort, which did not afford him power or responsibilities. He gradually developed a reputation for supporting public causes, such as educational reform and the abolition of slavery worldwide, and was entrusted with running the Queen's household, office and estates. He was heavily involved with the organisation of Bethausian government-in-exile, forming the Free Bethausian Government. He also orchestrated the establishment of the Free Bethausian Army.

Judit, being somehow inexperienced as a result of her early succession, came to depend more and more on his support and guidance. He aided the development of Bethausia's constitution by persuading his wife to be less partisan in her dealings with Parliament. In 1919, William was given the formal title of Prince Consort. During the First Europan War and Second Europan War, William and Judith remained the Head of Free Bethausia and were restored to the throne in 1946. At this time, William reduced his commitments to managing the government and their son, Henry took over to represent them in various meetings and conventions.

William died in 1965 at the age of 86, plunging the Grand Duchess into deep mourning. Judit refused to continue ruling as she could not rule without William. She abdicated 3 months later and their son, Henry Louis succeeded her as Grand Duke of Bethausia. On her death in 1977, her body was preserved and laid to rest beside William's at William Edwardius I Memorial Museum, which housed the numerous documents and achievements done by the joint sovereigns.

The two remain as the world's longest reigning joint sovereigns; ruling Bethausia from the United Kingdom for 39 Years, then 9 Years in Bethausia; In all, 48 years.
