The first established a minimum wage in 1956 with the Minimum Wage Act, however after the 1980 socialist revolution the new DSRA government introduced a basic income run from at national level since 1982, while the collapse of the socialist state led to a reform of the system and reduction in the scale and payments. This system is not in operation in the special administrative territories of Stveni, New Sieuxerr, The Pearl Islands and a number of special economic zones that have been created since the collapse of the DSRA.
