The House of Vieri (/ˈviːˈɛ͡ɹ/), alternatively spelled Viera in Anglish and also known as the House of Vetullia, is one of the most prominent and important dynasties in Parthenian history.
The house gets it's name from a fortress built by the founding member, Vieri Castle, built by Vetullian count Mauricio di Vieri in the 1020s. His grandson Otto was the first to take the fortress name as his own, adding "Count of Vieri" to his title. In 1273, Mauricio's seventh-generation descendant Rodolfo di Vieri (Rudolf, as he is known as well) was elected Count of Lone. Taking advantage of the extinction of the Siglionis and of his victory over Conrado Siglioni at the battle of Valdesia in 1278, he appointed his sons as Dukes of Busseto and moved the family's power base to there, where the Vieri dynasty gained the name of "House of Vetulia" and ruled until 1698.
