The United Nations Security Council, officially the Security Council of the United Nations, also known by its abbreviation UN-SC, is the standing body of the General Assembly, that makes quick decision outside of the scheduled meetings of the General Assembly. It is a permanent standing organ of the United Nations.

Permanent members
Currently, 5 out of 25 seats are reserved for the so-called "permanent members", which are guaranteed a seat in the Security Council. Those Security Council members are:
Those members are the umbrella organizations, connecting powerhouses of the world, whose members are members of the United Nations. A gentleman's agreement has been agreed to, that members of those confederations will not actively extensively seek seperate membership in the election classes in their respective continents.
Election classes
20 out of 25 seats of the Security Council are assigned using elections. Those seats are equally split into 4 Classes, each of them is elected on a General Assembly meeting. The term of each classes is 2 years, so the elections happen on every GA meeeting, with an offset of 6 months.
The seats are elected by the pool of the states associated under the continental groups. Elections are held on every meeting of the General Assembly, the January and the July assemblies. The seats are asigned to continents based on size, but as of October 2024, no change has occured since the formation in 2000.
