The Ostrozavan Protection Force (OPF) (Ostro-Ludzic: Obrannă Sila Ostrozavskă (OSO)) are the combined ground, naval and aerospace forces of The Prime Republic of Ostrozava. They consist of the Ostrozavan Army, Ostrozavan Aerospace Force, and Ostrozavan Coastal Force, as well as specialized branches and support units, most prominently including the Ostrozavan Foreign Legion. Since the 2020 reform of the PRCO, the OSO has operated alongside the Ostrozavan Civil Service as one of two civil service branches of the nation. Their governing body is the Prime Defense Council, which in-turn operates nominally under the Supreme Court of Ostrozava, though recent developments following the PRCO Crisis have de facto given the People's Congress a larger say in military matters.
Organization
In peacetime, the Supreme Commander of the Protection Force is the Prime Commander, a stratocratically elected position currently held by Marshal Radanna Șimonova. In wartime, the Primar is to assume a role of equal importance in local strategic matters, and full authority regarding large-scale deployment and operations. Following the end of Ostrozava's neutrality policy in early 2020, the Protection Force began undergoing a strategic reevaluation and audit in order to more properly assess defensive doctrine, with Veldia no longer seen as a credible threat. In 2021, the Protection Force reorganized into four geographical commands:
- Army Defense Command Baderia, headquartered at Falx Towers Military Complex, Vyshnaya, SSF Baderia
- Army Defense Command Ardovia, headquartered at Kolesk Joint Headquarters, Vandarek, SR Ardovia
- Army Defense Command Kupalnitsa, headquartered at Stan Bača Proving Ground, AUZ Levigorsk
- Army Defense Command Valdavia, headquartered at Zyler Joint Headquarters, Petrișova, SR Valdavia
