Controversies
Ochsenbeinism
It has been claimed by some foreign media, similar to the coverage of the 1976 Olympics, that "foreign-looking" people should not visit some areas in former fascist West Besmenia because of violent clashes between supporters of Ochsenbeinism and foreigners from the past and the rise of the far-right Besmenian Ochsenbein Party in some states in the mid-1980s. Since the Besmenian reunification, there has been a small but vocal Ochsenbeinism minority who have committed violent attacks against immigrants and foreign visitors to the country since the late 1960s. Although there has been a decline in xenophobic attacks in the West Besmenian states since the 1980s, some foreign media still advised foreigners to visit only eastern Besmenia. Some media which mentioned this "recommendation" met with criticism from high Besmenian politicans, including some governors of the West Besmenian states.
Media
The broadcasting rights of the 1986 World Cup in the host nation Besmenia were given to the BRF, which broadcasted the matches on BRF EINS.
