The Imperium of Amador (Alfarian: Imperium Amadore), commonly known as Amador, an an ancient Elven nation hailing from the lands of Ashran. It is a Gothic Elven Empire ruled by the House of Amador, with territory situated across the South-Central area of Gholgoth on the Alfar Peninsula. Amador shares a southern land border with the Saahein Sovereignty through its territorial exclave, Vanyaael, in Gholgoth, a maritime border with the Drakonium Imperium, and a maritime border with the Scandinvan, also in Gholgoth, while sharing a land border with Holy Marsh in Greater Dienstad. The Imperium comprises of numerous overseas territories, including Kva Norale in the Badlands, and Eska Alfaria in Greater Dienstad as well as Ilethlean in the Levanora Vastness and Valyrion in Varathron. Amador also maintains the territorial exclave of Vanyaael in Gholgoth. It maintains positive relations with Amaldorei, a city-state in Esvanovia which was once a colonial possession of the Imperium. Amador is currently led by Maeralya Amador. An Imperial power, Amador is a highly developed country. Comprising over 40 billion across all of its territories, it is one of the most populous nations in Gholgoth and the world. More than half of Amador's population resides in Ashran, with the remaining spread throughout Gholgoth and its various other territories. The capital and second largest city is Ifa Serine and the largest city of Amador is Citadel, followed by Enas Shaereth, Ilymmelle, and He'kir.

Amador is an empire ruled by elves, though there retains a sizable population of humans and other non-human species. The Alfar are a proud and haughty race spanning millennia of history, with cohabitation with humans and other nonhuman species being introduced within the last thousand years. The current monarch, Aleriel Saelihn, assumed the Eternal Throne in 2035, succeeding her mother, Maeralya Amador after reigning for three millennia. The royal family, alongside noble houses posses magic and are highly prevalent in government and higher society. Amador's government, while democratic at the behest of the monarch, is an unofficial magocracy, where the strongest magus are leaders of the state, holding influential government position, leaving lesser desired positions to the duly elected. Alfar typically have promise in the magic arts, with magic being heavily practiced in the Imperium. Amador also possesses advanced technologies, with one such example being the Holocron, a near indefinite storage device used for literary storage and the storage of knowledge. Pureblood Alfar are capable of bonding with dragon, winged reptiles capable of breathing fire. Dragonlords, often heads of noble houses, are known for their prominent displays of dragon riding.

Amador is an international center for science, art, philosophy, and greater education, hosting many of the region's most prestigious universities. The nation is home to some of the most visited heritage sites in the world, in particular in Gholgoth. It is among the most visited nations in the world when adjusted for international visits. The nation is highly developed and maintains the region's highest nominal GDP per capita. Amador is renowned for its reusable energy programs and lush, verdant forests. Amador's armed forces defend its sovereignty and are among the most technologically powerful in the world, possessing one of the strongest naval forces in modern history. The Imperium maintains close political, economic, and military ties with the Saahein Sovereignty and the Imperium of Marquesan through the Syndicat Rose, and close ties with the Lirvittian Empire.


Etymology

History

The Alfar Imperium is but one of the countless names Amador has undertaken throughout its history. A nation of elves, Amador has a nearly impossibly long history, with archaeological records suggesting the earliest Alfar civilizations to have existed around twenty millennia ago. Some records suggest records going back as far as 24,000 BCE. Amador has a long and complicated history, stretching numerous millennia and sharing its history with dozens of nations throughout the course of Amador's history, with notable inclusion with the Saahein Sovereignty, and Holy Marsh.

The Imperium initially started out as a collection of villages and towns along the Amas River, where modern Ifa Serine rests. Ifa Serine was the first Alfar population center to be considered a city and has served as the nation's capital since time immemorial. The first kingdoms, often called Tiami, were the oldest and most prominent of ancient tribes and the precursors of the modern Amadors, the royal family of the Imperium.

The Kingdom of Tiami

The Kingdom of Tiami was the first official kingdom of Old Amador, formed at least ten thousand years ago, though archeological evidence suggest as far back as fifteen to twenty thousand years ago based on historical finding of settlements. The Kingdom of Tiami was founded along the Jah'heer Harbor at the mouth of the Amas River, which is where the modern capital of Ifa Serine is located.

Prominently known as the Old Kingdom, Tiami's early histories centered around the warring elvish tribes that inhabited the Amas river watershed and the eventual migrations of Alfar to Gholgoth. The precursors to the modern Alfar, the Tiami eventually held dominion over the area, forming their kingdom following the absorbtion of various elvish tribes. It was at this time that the Tiami came in contact with the Saahein elves of modern-day Seclya. Through various skirmishes and wars, the Saahein were ultimately banished from the Old Kingdom and found refuge in Gholgoth.

The Tiami were technologically advanced, having records of civilization predating much of Gholgoth's other nations; however, much of this history was lost during the fall of Tiami. Officially, the Kingdom was unified and declared around 7300 BCE by King Alastar Vorshiel, following his Wars of Courage, a series of unifying wars against other elvish tribes. He was proclaimed the first king of the Tiami, and protector or the Alfar - the first written example of the term 'Alfar' being used.

The Vorshiel Royal Family, the original monarchial family of the state would rule for nearly three millennia, sitting the throne five kings and three queens over their long reign. In modern times, the Vorshiel are considered a Great House of Amador and one of the few houses remaining with ties to the Old Kingdom

Fall of Tiami

The Old Kingdom began to splinter into various rump states by 4300 BCE as the power and presige of the Tiami began to crumble. A series of internal strife, plague, and ineffectual leadership lead to the Heroken Split, a revolution led by the House of Hath Teliel. The revolution culminated in the Battle of the Illuvian Plains in 4201 BCE, where King Idinor was slain in battle by the revolutionary leader, Tal Vashok, leader of House Hath Teliel. The death of the king forced the royal armies to ultimately surrender, ending the Split and installing Tal Vashok to the throne.

The century of conflict was also referred to at the Dark Century for its brutality and economic misfortunates as the warring factions decimated the landscapes under the use of dragonfire. Tal Vashok's early rule would be characterized by sweeping legislative changes, including the formation of the Imperial Senate and Imperial Judiciary as well as the renaming of the Tiami to Amador, of which he took the new name as his official house. Maeralya Amador would be crowned an Imperial Princess in the wake of her father's ascension. The Old Kingdom had finally fallen, giving rise to the first Kingdom of Amador.

The Kingdom of Hath Teliel

Kath Teliel enjoyed moderate prosperity in its early centuries of rule over Amador, conducting various social reforms to appease the peasant populaces, while also solidifying power to ensure no revolution could transpire in the immediate future. Tal Vashok would ultimately enact as series of expansive camplaigns in 3635 BCE against the Elderin Elves of the eastern territories. The Elderin Campaigns saw the wholesale massacre of the Elderin Elves following the collapse of diplomatic proceedings.

Future queen Maeralya led in part, the main forces of the Hathien army, conducting town-by-town raids and ultimately defeating the Elderins at the Battle of Alinor, where atop Balyrion her she-dragon mount, Maeralya decimated twenty thousand enemy elves, forcing the surrender of Elderin and the subsquent annexation of their kingdom into Amador. This territorial gain gave Amador access across the Alfar peninsula from the western ocean to the eastern ocean.

The following centuries would be a period of peace. King Tal Vashok would see the immediate returns of the annexation, fueling large-scale infrastructure projects, included the first walled cities and stone-paved highways. The Imperial Highway connected every major city in the kingdom, from Ifa Serine to Citadel, to Alinor. The highway's original routes are still in used today, though modernized.

During this period of peace, Tal Vashok authorized the exploration of lands beyond Amador. The Alfarian Expedition were conducted with sea-worthy capable vessels to explore, expand, and triumph over new lands, while also sharing their treasures and cultures with far off civilizations. During a series of expeditions in the late 3000s BCE, Amador would come in contact with ancient Holy Marsh, then an uncivilized area of the world.

Expeditions in Holy Marsh

In the region of Greater Dienstad in a continent then known as Erasmus to the Elves of Amador, an expedition led by Altherion Vantoril encountered a wide range of native tribespeople. Most of these tibes were passed by the Elves, who marked the traditions of the people and the geography of the land in an academic and relatively disinterested fashion. When the badlands transitioned to mountains and those mountains to the jungle, however, the tenor of the expedition changed.

Darwe Mathetel, lead scout, encountered native tribespeople. Friendly contact was achieved despite the lack of language, and the expedition moved to make a broader connection. There they discovered the Jhanjotra and Birangar tribes located in a small but growing settlement at a mountain pass, where the jungle and badlands met. In the location where modern Mar’si now stands and where the First Cathedral was then being made, the Elves made note of the fervent belief in Marshism and the ways and traditions of the odds tribes. Other tribes such as the Sarangdev, Yuana, and Kehrola were in the midst of conversion to the faith, and High General Perigridel Hath Teliel even took part in the viewing of the election and confirmation of the third Arsi’Elkon.

The expedition would spend several years in the Hitlion region as the Marshites grew. Contact was established early thanks to magic- the Elves were surprised to discover Marshite ‘Bhagatveer’ Shaman-Poets who were capable of bridging the gap. Still, the Elves were able to impress early Marshites with their advanced technologies and proof of near immortality and mastery of dragons, a feat the elves shared with upon the ancestral Marshites.

The Elves were for their part impressed with how well Marshites adapted as well as the variance of their people. Altherion Vantoril was noted as saying: “We have yet to encounter a barbarian people as diverse as they. They welcome all and ask only faith. This faith must be strong, for as deep and passionate their debates are and as ready as we have been to see them fall upon each other, they pull themselves away in respect and reverence long before."

In modern times, the tales of the first expedition are enshrined in the Codex Mar'si, a scroll that also contained a series of government structures in relation to the Kerdan Council and national unity all written in Marshite and Amadorian dialects. Darwe Mathetel acts as curator at the National Museum of Elven History, thus focusing on maintaining the aged document.

During this period, Eska Alfaria would also be established along the borders of the modern Holy Marsh, the first overseas territory of the Kingdom.

Reorganization into the Imperium

By 1472, Hath Teliel had grown enormously to encompass most of modern Amador. With this, internal strife had once more brought the kingdom to heel. In an effort to contain impending revoultion, King hath Teliel began a series of reforms to limit the power of the monarchy and create a greater freedom of voice for its populace. The first aspects of democracy were finally beginning to bear fruit in the Kingdom. The Imperial Senate and Judiciary were given official checks and balances over the monarchy, though the crown could still disband both if certain criteria were met.

With crisis averted, King Teliel would enact the transformation of the Kingdom into what is now known as the Imperium of Amador, officially denoting Amador as an Empire and imperial power. Despite these changes, King Tal Vashok would meet his untimely death in 982 BCE following a series of skirmishes against the Scandinvans on Vismer when his dragon, Acterol, was felled mid-air, subsequently bringing the king to a gruesome death. He would be succeeded by Maeralya Amador, the current reigning monarch of Amador into the modern age.

The First Golden Age (982 BCE - 1001 AD)

Under Maeralya's rule, Amador would enter an unprecedented nearly two millennia-long period of economic and social growth, expanding enormously the cultural influence of the Alfar across the known region and world at large. Amador would officially bore fruit in its establishment of Ilethlean in the vastness of Levanora, Amador's second overseas territorial possession. Outside of minor skirmishes and wars, particularly with the Scandinvans, Amador was largely peaceful over the two millennia, with its cities become extensive trading hubs between the world's great powers.

Vismer Conflicts (1001 AD - 1207 AD)

The Vismer Conflicts would erupt in 1001 AD between Amador and the Scandinvans over the island of Vismer, a Scadinvan territory just north of mainland Amador. The conflict would see the large-scale invasion of the Imperium, resulting in the loss of most of its eastern territories, the death of numerous dragons, and the introduction of humans into the Alfar peninsula. Bitter enemies even before the invasion, the Vismer Conflicts would be a series of wars fought over two centuries between the two powers, with Amador drawing their defensive lines at the base of the Glypherall Mountains and accepting the initial loss of their territories. The Imperium would suffer horrendous losses agains the magic-resistant human invaders, with defeats at Alinor and Crestel forcing imerial forces on the defensive. This series of defensive wars would last until the waning decade of the conflicts.

In the waning years of the conflicts, Amador would began a series of offensives around the use of dragonfire and arcana strikes to ultimately push back the Scandinvans to Vismer and subsequently restore their mainland back to sovereign control. The Second Battle of Alinor marked the turning point in the war, in which Alfar forces led by General Ailred forced a resounding massacre of Scandinvan forces, breaking their main force and sending their troops into a shock.

Second Golden Age (1207 - 2000)

The reunification of the Imperium saw the advent of an second golden age founded around the expansion of peace and prosperity to its varying territories, including the founding of Kva Norale. This golden age would persist for nearly eight hundred years. It followed substantial centuries of peace that saw little conflict between itself, its neighbors, or international rivals.

During this time, the human population or Amador would see substantial explosion in size, with humans largely of Scandinvan origins. This co-existence was tense at first, but ultimately became readily accepted, with the advent of half Alfar-human hybrids become prevalent in Amadorian society. Amador's second golden age would come to an end at the turn of the millenium, with the nation suffering numerous setbacks both economically and politically.

Contemporary (2000-Present)

Amador would find itself embroiled in the trials and tribulations of the twenty-first century. Discarding its recent pursuit of peace, Amador would find itself involved in numerous conflicts, from the War of the Leaves, to the Lost Prince Saga, and to the Laefold War and ultimately to the

The War of the Leaves

At the turn of the twenty-first century, Amador found itself embroiled in the War of the Leaves, a rebellion in Seclya led by Ruven Rothilion to overthrown the Hakul government and grant its Elven inhabitants freedom. The Altos Lease Act was passed through the Imperial Senate, granting Amadorian financial and military equipment aid. During the course of the first year of the war, Lady Issarel Ermys became an advocate for involvement of the Imperium in Seclya, whereupon the nation finally relented.

The arrival of Alfar economic and lethal military aid was slated to have had a noted contribution to the Saahein resistance, with Amador further sending military advisors and officers to properly train and equip the Saahein forces. It was not until 2003 that Amador would finally put boots on the ground, conducting Operation Saal'naheen from its territorial exclave of Vanyaael, a large-scale land invasion intended to aid the Saahein and push back Hakulic forces. Operation Raging Seas would be conducted simultaneously and was a naval blockade conducted against Hakul-held ports in northern Seclya. Amador and Seclya would suffer from Hakul's torched-earth strategy and its willingness to conduct nuclear strikes upon its own territory. Amador would would suffer millions of casualties, though Amador's expertise in magick, its numerical advantages, and its technological superiority would ultimately force the Hakul to retreat from Mecklensturtz, its capital, all the way to the Marysia Mountains.

While the Amadorians were staging to push further south to chase the Hakulic forces, Saahein forces were able to force Hakulic leaders Klaus Stahl and Ansgar Wolffe to flee following the Marysia Pocket event in which the Hakul attempted eight times to break out of the Saahein envelopment, only succeeding on the eighth attempt, though at the loss of countless divisions. This breakout led to the evacuation of the remaining Hakul from Seclya to Varathron and the Badlands. Amadorian forces would then link up with the Saahein, bringing about the end of the war.

The Laefold Wars (2024)

In Kva Norale, Amador's farthest flung imperial territory, a series of strikes conducted by the Laefold Kingdom's Haan'derok Raiders against Noralian whaling vessels, would embroil Amador into another war. Amador, through Kva Norale, would conduct an extensive amphibious invasion across the numerous islands of the Laefold Kingdom, operating a island-hopping campaign while utilizing its extensive air power to cripple Laefoldian infrastructure.

King Laefold's refusal to surrender the Raiders to Amador would ultimately get him killed in a series of targeted strikes against Laefold's main government institutions. The kingdom would soon surrender. Amador would formally annex the Laefold Kingdom into the Imperium following the end of the war.

The Laefold War lasted for nine months, but was critical in recognizing Amadorian power in the Badlands. This would lead to the signing of the Silent Accords with the Lirvittian Empire in an attempt to minimize hostilities and conduct safe and neutral passage in the Silent Seas while also respecting both power's spheres of influence.

The Second War of the Leaves (2034 - 2035)

The Second War of the Leaves would begin following the Hakulic remnants in Scailand launching a surprise attack on a Secylai passenger liner, the Virabella, en route to Kva Norale. The Tragedy at Glymerhall and the surprise Bombing of the Saahein Consulate Building in Shen Borgisk would wrangle in Amador, which passed articles of war following the three attacks.


The Flicker (2035)

During the Second War, Amador would find itself at odds with the Lothic Kingdom, which had come to the aid of Scailand in an attempt to protect its interests in the area. Previous discussion between Amador and its sworn ally, the Marquesan Imperium, bore fruit in the form of Flicker, an operation conducted through the use of a skip-glide nuclear detonation test. The experiment was moved up during the timeline of the conflict, with its intent to intimidate and hopefully negate Lothic aid to Scailand.

The detonation took place in the early mornings in the Tazanthrian Sea as millions were tuned in from across the world to witness the test. Kairun Naval Base in the Kvan Far East bore fruit to the launch zone, with dozens of Amadorian warships accompanied by its allies, watching as the test arced through the sky and across the Badlands region to its intended target. Viewing parties, under the protection of Amador's Black Fleet, bore witness to the extensive damage inflicted. The Lothic Kingdom would inquire for terms following, with favorable deals being established for both sides in exchange for Lothia's pull-out of its forces, opening Scailand to one of the largest naval operations in Amador's history.

A New Sovereign (2035 - Present)

Before the outbreak of the Second War of the Leaves, Queen Maeralya announced her intention to abdicate the throne to her heir apparent and eldest child, Aleriel Saelihn. The ascension ceremony would officially take place following the conclusion of the conflict, with Maeralya formerly ending her reign after three thousand years of rule, making way for a new era under Queen Aleriel.

Aleriel would begin her reign with remarkable efficiency, enacting a series of social reforms that guaranteed extensive economic benefits for the middle class society, while also pushing through with articles to procure, construct, and expand existing educational networks. Amador's military would also see a noticeable increase in total size and budget, with its empire now facing more threats abroad than it has at any other point in its history.

The Void Ascension (203?- 203?)

Geography

Amador's homeland, Ashran, consists of six continents and thousands of islands of varying sizes and geographical differences. The Imperium comprises of various territories throughout the world. Ashran, where mainland Amador is located, is filled with lush verdant forests that spread for thousands of kilometers. Ashran, the continents and its numerous islands, are entirely under the dominion of Amador and presents varying climates.

Mount Olmphyar

The Glypheral Mountain Range are the longest and tallest moutain range in mainland Amador, straddling much of the interior of Ashran's largest landmass. Mt. Olmhyphar, at 18,596 ft., is the tallest mountain in all of Amador and the Glypherals. Plentiful mountain lakes straddle the mountain range, allowing for inhabited life to manage. The Glypheral Mountain Range is home to several extinct volcanoes, including Mt. Killaltel, at 17,493 ft., thus making it the tallest volcano in Amador.

Southern Amadorian Fields

There are many lakes in Amador; the largest being Lake Oraclien. The vast majority of Amador's population is situated in southern and coastal areas away from the frigid northern areas. These areas, largely flat, coastal, or rolling plain, are highly fertile. Amadorian wheat fields litter southern Amador, and are often considered a natural wonder in their own right due to how much farmland there is. Lake Oraclien provides one-fifths of the nations water needs.

The Encuriel River, Gothic Amador's longest river, stretches from the Sacaraiel Mountains all the way to He'kir, where its delta empties into the Narrows. One of Amador's most important rivers, the Encuriel is also considered the longest river in Gholgoth. The Encuriel also feeds and nourishes the vast Godswood forest of central Amador, leading to mature Godswood capable of reaching well over four hundred feet in height.

Amador is also home to the Valley of En Yeltelkire, the lowest point in the nation from sea level. En Yelteklkire is a graben, stuck between two mountains ranges in Southern Amador. A strike slip fault system bisects the valley. This area is also the most seismically active area of the nation. Several creeks cross the valley, and it remains relatively fertile. Numerous ruins dot the landscape surrounding the valley.


Climate

The Imperium possesses numerous climate zones, with humid subtropical zones in mainland Ashran comprising roughly 65% of the region's climate. Dense taiga forests and tundra zones exists in northern Ashran, whereas coastal zones in the south often see a tropical climate with plentiful rainful and an abundance of life.

The Imperium's territory in Gholgoth is large, offering varying degrees of climates throughout. The northern areas of the nation are largely temperate to humid continental. Southern Gothic Amador is largely cold, made apparent my vast and expanding tundra and mountain ranges, which obstruct the flow of warm area masses from the south. This area is largely subarctic, with severe winters, while elsewhere there are moderate winters.

Owing to its vast landmass on Ashran, Amador experiences all season over a twelve month course. The coldest months are typically December and January, while the hottest months are typically June and July. Winters are typically moderate, though harsh in the north and relatively warm in the south, while great ranges in temperature can often be observed. Winter is typically dry, though wet winters throughout the southwestern portions of the country can be observed.

Gothic Amador, particularly around the coast, has a more oceanic climate, with slight variations in humid subtropical climate locales. It is in these locations that the largest cities can often be found, as the areas are more suitable for habitation. Precipitation is light throughout the year, with decreases in precipitation during the winter months and increasesing during the summer months. Southern Gothic Amador is cold and foreboding.

Biodiversity

Owing to its large size, Amador has a diverse ecosystem, including polar deserts, tundra, forests, both mixed and broadleaf, steppe and semi-desert, and subtropical ecosystems. The Godswood tree covers roughly a quarter of the country, of which roughly half of the nation is forested. Due to ancient Elven magics, much of Amador is consistently warmer than much of Gholgoth, which is a mostly cold, wintery region devoid of substantial species of plants and animals.

More than 10,000 species of vascular plants, 5,000 species of algae, and around 20,000 species of fungi can be found in Amador. 256 known species of mammals, including the Amadorian Polar Bear, can be found in Amador. Over 500 species of flighted birds, 10 species of bird incapable of flight, 80 species of reptiles, and some 20 species of amphibians can be found in the nation. Owing to its abundance of rivers and natural springs, Amador also hosts more than 300 species of freshwater fish and upwards of 1,000 species of saltwater fish. There are an estimated 1,000 rare and/or endangered plant and animal species in Amador.

Owing to government mandates and laws, Amador's natural ecosystems are protected in 20,000 specially protected territories making up more than 20% of Amador's total area. National Parks, natural reserves, and sealife preserves make up much of this area. While much of Gholgoth cares little for the natural way of the world, Amador makes a heavy emphasis on living with and promoting environmental awareness and protecting its wildlife. In fact, many Amadorian cities openly allow the growth of the famous Godswood alongside bristling and towering skyscrapers. Elven tradition dictates living with and accepting nature.

Among the most prominent species in Amador are Amadorian dragons, winged serpents that have long shared an integral roll with the Alfar population. Largely docile unless provoked, dragon-Alfar relations are sacred, with dragons only bonding to the Alfar species. They are natural species, residing dominantly in nature. It is not uncommon to see an Amadorian dragon soaring high above the Alfar cityscapes.

National Government

The Imperium is an absolutely monarchy operating as a federal republic asserting sovereignty over 12 states and several overseas territories. It is among the oldest continuously governed nations in Gholgoth. While power is derived from the Monarchy, Amador has a democratic constitution and democratically elected officials, though final say on any laws and enforcement rest within the hands of the Eternal throne. The Constitution of Amador is the supreme legal document of the nation. It establishes, under the monarchy, the structures and responsibilities of the federal government and its relationship with the population.

The Imperium of Amador is a monarchy ruled by Aleriel Saelihn, head of the House of Amador. As such, the nation's government can be classified as an absolutely monarchy; however, the government, in accordance with the monarchy, operates a bicameral legislature and a judiciary structure as well. Amador maintains several democratic values despite the absolute power the monarchy holds over the nation, for Amador could not hope to be solely governed by one person.

The Imperial Senate is the legislative branch of the government under the direction of the monarchy. It is responsible for passing legislation, approving declarations of war. The Imperial Senate is divided into to houses, forming a bicameral legislature. The Chamber of Representatives is made up of 100 representatives from each of the twelve states in Imperium and 20 representative for each overseas territory, for a total of 160representatives. The House of Commons is made up of members that cover each federal district, including the Federal Capital Territory. There are 1,282 Commons members. The bicameral legislature's structure enables coverage and voice for the entirety of the populace. The Senate operates at the whim of the monarchy and by law, may be disbanded if the need is deemed necessary. The Imperial Senate meets in the Imperial Chambers, housed within the Idulin Building in Ifa Serine.

Amador's national government also includes the Imperial Judiciary, operated under the direction of the monarchy. Imperial Judges are appointed for life and is made up of Alfar and human members. There are 25 members of the national court. Approval for national judges is affirmed by the Senate following a nomination by the monarchy. It is the only power in government that the monarchy cannot overturn. The Imperial Judiciary interprets laws and overturns laws founded to be outdated or unconstitutional or antagonistic towards the monarchy. The Imperial Judiciary is led by the Praetor, also known as the Chief Judiciary. Vacancies are nominated by the reigning monarch as they become available.

Amador also has an ancient noble caste, separated into Great Houses, Standard House, and Minor Houses, of which many politicians come from. They are the influential families in government, and often the driving forces behind new legislation. The Great Houses, such as House Rothilion, are also entitled to the title of "Dragonlord" as a result of their keeping of dragons. Dragonlords are often the most powerful individuals in the nation, even in to the modern age.

Amadorian-Scandin Relations

Relations with the Scandinvans is tense, owing to centuries of hostilities between the two nations. Officially, the government of Amador retais no diplomatic relations with the Scandins, though there are back-channels open. Amador has remained on a war footing with the Scandinvans for centuries, with the back-channels serving as the only means of communication between the two nations.

Alfar-Saahein Relations

The Imperium maintains important relations with the Saahein Sovereignty through a series of formal documents and the marriage of Ruven Rothilion-Ermys and Issarel Rothilion-Ermys. As key allies, both nations are sworn to defend one another in the event one nation is attacked. Formal relations were established following the Amadorian Intervention in the War of the Leaves, which saw the human-dominated Hakulic government overthrown by Saahein and Lashein elves, a separate group of elves that left Amador millennia ago.

Under the alliance, Amador and Seclya have close economic and diplomatic relations - with both nations regularly participating in joint military exercise and economic conferences. As a gesture of goodwill and trust in each nation, the Alfar-Saahein Border is completely unguarded and freely travelled between by civilians of each country. Both nations work in close unity to defend the sovereignty of both country's territorial extents. Seclya is Amador's closest relation by far and is considered a sworn brother of the Imperium.

The Imperium has made an enormous economic impact in Seclya following the rise of the Saahein Sovereignty in an effort to rebuild the war-torn country and to revitalize the shattered economy. Amador has established an annual grant to the Sovereignty in exchange for the establishment of the Saahein-Alfar Free-Trade Agreement (SAFTA), a free-trade agreement which eliminates tariffs and taxed among imported and exported goods between the two nations. Seclya itself has offered its cultural history and architectural prowess to Amador in return, offering itself as a great friend to the Imperium.

Relations with Holy Marsh have been strong since the early days of exploration. Alfar sailors intially found Holy Marsh nearly five millennia ago and played a crucial role in 'civilizing' the native inhabitants. The Codex Mar'si, written during this time with oversight of the Alfar, established the basis for Marshite governance that continues into the modern era. Eska Alfaria, Amador's territorial possessions in Greater Dienstad, borders Holy Marsh.

In modern times, relations between the two great powers are positive, with the two allies closer than ever. Extensive trade agreements and military compatabilities between the two have created an extremely powerful bond. None of this is more clear than the integration of Marshite culture into the governance of Eska Alfaria through the Alfar Sarda.

Military

The Armed Forces of Amador are commanded by the Department of Defense at the behest of the Monarchy. As such, the current monarch is considered the commander-in-chief of the military. The Department of Defense administers all branches of the military: the Grand Army of Amador (GAA), Imperial Naval Forces (INF), the Imperial Air Force (IAF), and Coastal Defense Forces (CDF). The armed forces are considered an advanced, professional, and all volunteer force in Gholgoth, where her main interest lay. As an empire, Amador possesses large-scale power projection capabilities to protect its various territories and their sovereign borders. The AFA are primarily concerned with defense over offense, but are more than capable of striking should the need arise. The armed forces have seen an uptick in recruitment, training, and budgetary increases to cope with renewed tensions in the Badlands and in Gholgoth.

The Armed Forces maintains a distinct technological edge and highly disciplined personnel. As a result of its smaller size, the SLA possess nuclear weapons in substantial amounts. The Department of Defense does not publish official numerical counts of nuclear weapons, though estimations exceeding 4,000 have been floated by whistleblowers and past leaks. The accuracy of the claims have not be verified. Nuclear weapons are considered a deterrent and would only be used in a retaliatory strike or if national security is facing an existential crisis. Amador's budget publishes national defense at 4.2% of the national budget, though many believe this to be false and significantly higher.

The Imperial Navy is the largest branch of Eternal Forces, owing in large part due to the nations geography as as sitting on a peninsula and possessing numerous overseas territories. The Scandinvans are considered a threat to national sovereignty and thus the navy has undergone extensive modernization and expansion to curb Scandin influences and desires. Extensive expansions have seen the Arat Navui develop into the preeminent branch of the Armed Forces. With the rising enlistments, the military has increased the Navui's budget fourfold over the last three years to accommodate additional training to properly serve aboard vessels. The Arat Navui is the primary power projection branch of the armed forces and serves as the first line of defense and its primary offensive component in the event of war.

The Grand Army, otherwise known as the Imperial Ground Forces, are the second largest branch, operating within the confines of Amador's border and its numerous territories to ensure the sovereignty of the Imperium's borders.

Amador has a large military industrial complex and one of the largest naval infrastructures found anywhere in Gholgoth. The Akagi-class Aircraft Carrier is one of Amador's most profound designs. Other notable designed include the Hathel Air Superiority fighter, a fifth generation stealth fighter. Amador's military industry has also entered into a close working relationship with Royal Marquesan Experts to develop, procure, and fund future projects, including an ongoing sixth-generation fighter program. Reports of the program are severely classified.

Law Enforcements

Law Enforcement in Amador is primarily conducted by governmental police agencies. These include local police departments, city departments, and provincial deparments. The Crown gives permission for the establishment of various federal agencies that also conduct law enforcement on a nation scale and take seniority over the other levels of departments in the nation. All law enforcement agencies are primarily charged with the responsibility to deter criminal activy, prevent the successful commission of crimes, or to arrest crimes following their attempt. Warrants, writes, and other court orders are most often conducted by law enforcement, though military official may be involved depending on the severity of the case.

All law enforcement agencies are required to be involved in providing first response to emergency where applicable and any and all threats to publice safety. The main mission to to ensure a safe environment, with many agencies being granted additional powers to do this. Agencies may conduct protection detail of public officials, maintaining public order, and operating detention or corrective facilities, though this typically falls at the local levels of law enforcement.

The population of Amador contains countless species of sentient lifeforms, with the Alfar elves being its most prominent populace at 42% of the total population of Amador. Humans make up 20 % of the population. Hybrids between Alfar and humans, often called half-bloods, make up 30% of the population, while the remaining 8% are made up of varying other species of non-humans and non-alfar. Pureblood Alfar procreate at a far slower rate than half-blood and humans do. In 2050, half-blooded Alfar are expected to be the majority population in Amador, with purebloods falling to second.

Amador experienced rapid growth through the nineteenth and mid-twentieth century, with population rates exceeding 10% during some census years. Rapid quality of life improvements and substantial incentives to start families provided high growth rates, From 1950 to the present, a period of eight decades, growth has declined significantly, with 2030 posting a 1.4% growth rate, the lowest since 1970 which also had a 1.4% rate. Decreasing growth rates can be attributed to higher costs of living, a larger percentage of the population being humanity which have seen the desire for larger families decrease. More difficulty in reproducing for Alfar has also been reported. The government of Amador is working on introducing incentives for citizens to have larger families, though this is still some ways off. Continuing trends place Amador on the path to a negative growth rate by 2070.

Amador's population is concentrated along the coastlines and in large metropolitan clusters, while the interior of the nation is largely rural and uninhabited due to immense mountain peaks and difficult terrains.

Religion in Amador is universally free by proclamation of the government of Amador, immortalized in the Religious Freedom Act of 1708 and signed into law by queen Maeralya, despite heavy opposition against the Universal Rite of the Scandin Church led by the Scandinvans, Amador's time-honored rival and occasional enemies.

By the Queen's grace, no governing body, nor interfering body, can forbid the free exercise of religion in Amador and its territories. Religion, as a result, is widely practiced by most Amadorian households, though atheism has seen a rise among human populations in recent decades, whereas faith in the Eternal Flame, has seen an uptick in recent years.

The Eternal Flame is the most followed religion in Amador. It worships the Phoenix and its brethren, the Stag, the Leviathan, the Dragon, and the Aether - each of which represents the elemental facets of natures: Fire, Nature, Water, Air, and Soul. With the Phoenix as its chief deity, the five aspects form the Ithronel, or the pantheon of the Eternal Flame. The Phoenix is the celestial manifestation of of the Eternal Flame that gives light to Amador. The Eternal Flame was granted to the first rulers of Amador and has since been passed down through the millennia to a Keeper of the Eternal Flame. Keepers are often considered deities in their own right, having power and influence that oftentimes exceeds or matches the will of the monarchy, with religion and state often intertwining. The current keeper is Cylia Amador, Second Princess of the Imperium. Roughly 60% of Amadorian households hold faith over the Eternal Flame.

Amador is a religiously diverse nation, with much of the human populations practicing varying faiths just as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Shinto, and several others. Amador's de facto nation religion is the Eternal Flame. Non-human species practice their own sects of faith, while the Alfar almost entirely oversee the Eternal Flame, with a very small minority in Amaldorei practicing a dualist religion known as the Church of the Twin Sisters.

Religious intolerance does exists, with the Universal Rite of the Scandin Church, the primary religion of Amador's long-time nemesis, the Scandinvans, being a small but prominent sect of religion in Amador. Legislation and protests have been prominent in recent years, demanding the denouncement and expulsion of the religion and its followers in Amador. There have been several protests turned violent since 2010 against the Universal Rite, leading to several deaths and infrastructure damage. The monarchy and Eternal Flame are currently discussing the legality of the Rite and considering expulsion of its followers to protect national and civilian interest in Amador.

Amador's population is mostly situated along the coastal regions of the nation, with small population centers in the inner areas and at the base of the Glypheral Mountains. Much of the nation's internal geography, however, is sparsely populated because of expansive agriculture and areas where it is colder. Because of this population placement, the coastal regions are home to massive and sprawling modern metropolises and contain the vast majority of the total population of Amador.

Pureblood elves are functionally immortal, meaning they cannot die of old age or sickness. Half-blood elves can live for several centuries, though this depends on their blood-line. Government programs aimed at lowering obesity rates among human populations has resulted in substantial increases qualities of life in the nation.

The Creed possesses the belief of equality, regardless of race, social equalities, and a general preference for overarching government. Alfar culture is dominated by a competitive, hard working, strong ethic, and altruism on a voluntary level. The Imperium is a vast country dominated by the Alfar Elves, though it is ethnically diverse with a plethora of different traditions, values, religions, and groups making up a large portion of Amador as well. Alfar culture is generally regarded as one of the brightest in Gholgoth and possesses significant cultural and soft power.

Alfar culture prides itself on being a melting pot for the world, with immigrants contributing significantly to the nation's wellbeing and health. Alfar typically enjoy high social mobility, which attracts immigrants regionally and internationally, but especially within Gholgoth for its substantially higher quality of life compared to its neighbors. By tradition, Alfar Elves are seen as First-class citizens with special privileges due to their standing, especially among noble households. Second-class citizens are typically Half-Alfar and human citizens, who possess broad freedoms exceeding many traditional democracies around the world, though they are not often prominent in government structures - this is debated largely owing to the substantially longer Alfar lifespan than compared to that of a humans. Third-class citizens are often considered to be any non-human or non-alfar civilian, and may sometimes be shunned for low status, though they are often exceedingly well off compared to other nations.

Amadorian culture tends to value significant socioeconomic achievement, with noble houses especially being prominent in this area. Dragonlords, typically the head of the great noble houses, are often revered and demand the highest of respect, second only the the royal family. Many families, most prominently House Amador, the current ruling house of the Imperium, bear the symbol of an Amadorian dragon upon its seal and heraldry.

Mass media is largely uncensored, with the Monarchy providing abundant protections for the freedom of press. Amador has many major broadcasting networks, though Imperium News Network is by far the largest. The three major entities listed above are commercial entities free to public content without interference from the government so long as the material does not infringe on the rights of a civilian.

Despite the technologically advanced culture, Amador maintains a well-read and popular sect of newspaper agencies, including the Daily Ifa Serine and the Altoria Journal, both of which have a regional and international following. Barring a few exceptions, newspaper publicist are largely privately owned, though the government does run the Glymerhall Gazette and has full oversight of its operations.

Modern theater is often reminiscence of traditional Alfar theater from its ancient roots, though today's is often heavily influenced by modern approaches. Many famous Amadorian movie and television actors have often gotten their big break by first going to theater - many still perform to this day. Musicals are often quite popular as well, with their budgets often being the largest. Kaskil Opera House in Citadel, is home to the largest musicals hosted by the Imperium - of which most attract international visitors and prestige.

Amador is a nation steeped in tradition and this extends to its choice in fashion, whether it be in the cold climates of Kva Norale, the mainland Imperium, or in its territorial holdings of Eska Alfaria, traditonal Alfar attire is predominately the choice of most civilians, even humans and non-human civilians. Alfar culture is accepting and even encourage individual choices in differences in Alfar fashion - Alfar also accept different cultural fashion choices willingly and without prejudice. As a socially progressive country, traditional often mixes with new waves of fashion.

Alfar society also places an emphasis on longer hair, often left loose or in a high ponytail or braid regardless of gener and often adorned with intricate Elvish pins. Earrings are also commonplace amongst male and female Alfar, with other species also regularly partaking in tradition, though it is not dictated or encouraged. Robes are often the choice of attired for male civilians, though pants, slacks, and other wear is respected as well.

Overall, Alfar fashion can be considered semi-formal, with traditional emphasis on fashion for Alfar Elves while also encouraging informal and progressive fashion choices as well for all citizens, regardless of race - cultural diversity in its population has seen an explosive shift in traditional Alfar culture, with the nation becoming a melding pot.

Traditional Alfar Cuisine emphasizes their unique bond with nature - vegetables, fruits, and nuts are an integral part of an Alfar's diet, though this does not mean Alfar shun the intake of meats such as poultry or beef, and are also regular consumers of fish. While no longer the case, Alfar were traditionally hunters of the food they would prepare and eat. Venison meals, overlaid with fruits and greens, is a typical Alfar dinnertime meal.

Amador has a social market economy with a highly skilled labor force, a low level of corruption, and a high level of innovation owing to it's ancient Elven roots and emphasis of tertiary education. The nation is home to Amadorie Airs, one the the region's premier airship manufacturing companies and transportation hubs, which forms an integral structure for inter-regional trade among its allies and territories. The kingdom maintain a trade surplus, with chief products influding refined goods, finished products, and semiconductor and chip exports. The Saahein Sovereignty remains the Imperium's largest trading partner by far and the chief location that Amador Imports raw materials from.

Amadorians have one of the highest average household and employee incomes among members of Gholgoth, as well as a high median household income. Ilymmelle is known for its mountain hot springs that attract millions every year and for what many consider the most pleasant weather in the Imperium. It is an tourist city with an emphasis on the gambling and hotel industries. Attractions in Ilymmelle include the Imperial Mock, a replica of the Imperial Flame in Ifa Serine, the Ninegates International Resort and Hotel, and the Leaning Tower of Periclines.

However, within its own borders, Amador has perhaps one of the most advanced transportation networks in the region. A series of expressway wrapping around and through the nation, service the vehicular needs of everyday Amadorian citizens. As a nation equipped with airships, the nations airways are dense and efficient. High speed rail also services the nation, with much of the dedicated rail lines for citizens capable of speeds in excess of 400 miles per hour, among the best in Gholgoth.

The HSR network is heavily interconnected throughout the Imperium and offers the cheapest form of travel from one point to another due to their Alfar designs. They are among the quickest in the region.

While the Imperium's primary focus is on public transportation and airship travel, the Imperium still possesses an extensive network of roads, expressways, and highways. The Imperial Highway Administration oversees the construction, maintenance, and upgrades of the Inter-prefecture Highway System, the Imperium's national highway systems. The highway system connects major cities such as Ifa Serine, Citadel, Enas Shaereth, He'kir, and Naeth. The highway system is used by commercial and civilian vehicles alike and often follow high-speed rail routes between cities. The IPHS also dictates that roads are standardize and of the same quality and make throughout the Imperium and are required by law to be wide enough to accommodate most military vehicles. The Amadorian government also mandates and enforces all personal vehicles to be electric and/or environmentally friendly.

Holthas De'Lak An International Airport in Ifa Serine and Citadel International Airport are among the busiests airports in Gholgoth, serving the main nexuses into the mainland Imperium. Air travel is an extensive and complicated method of travel and serves as a primary form of transportation internationally and internally. Local airports serve individual prefecture-to-prefecture traffic through an extensive use of airplanes and airships.

Airships are a secondary, but highly popular mode of aerial travel in the Imperium, especially in the southern realms where the Glypheral Mountains impede rail and road networks. Airships are often consider a point of pride by their Amadorian pilots, with annual airship races held in Enas Shaereth at the Imperial Aerial Circus.

Seaports

Critical to the health and security of the Amadorian state, its port system is both robust and highly-developed, having placed special emphasis in port infrastructure development over the last fifty years. Hundreds of port facilities throughout the state, including the largest, the Port of Amador in Ifa Serine. Mainland Amador is blessed with a plethora of deep-water harbors, with many under construction as of 2024 to better support a fast growing population.

With its emphasis on eco-friendly methods, Amador's ports are powered in large part to hydroelectric and solar power, taking advantage of the nation's plentiful sunshine. Rail and air infrastructure are being modernized and new and existing connections being constructed or upgraded every year. A growing population has seen extensive development on high-speed freight rails in the last three decades, with dozens of lines being built to accommodate the increase in freight traffic to meet the needs of everyday civilians. Amador's airship network has also taken to transportin freight between specially built airship freight warehouses. It is a rapidly growing industry in part to its low costs and high returns.

Amador imports many resources from Seclya through its ports, and refines these resources into finished products to be traded back or to other trading partners. Notable trade partners include not only Seclya, but the Gothic Marches, Kylarnatia, and various other internal sovereign nations.

Water Network

Amador possess a bounty of navigable waterways stretching the length of the nation, which aids in ship-based transport of both cargo and people. River-based transport has been an integral part of Amador's extensive history, with ferries and being a highly popular commodity in favor over the use of personal vehicles. They are essentially a river taxi service, though it does not have a formal administration to oversee it. Barges carry innumerable amounts of product through these rivers and lakes to the interior and throughout the country, forming a lengthy and complicated network whose importance is vital to the health of the economy.
