Morwall is the capital city of Estmere, with the urban area of the city forming the basis of the constituent entity of Greater Morwall, the greater capital region of Estmere. With an urban population of 8.7 million and a metro population of 12.9 million, Morwall is the largest city in Estmere and in Euclea as a whole. The city is situated on the River Mor, for which it is named, in the geographic centre of the country. The city has considerable urban sprawl, but is generally accepted to be bounded by the Hitchin Hills to the south and west, and the Bywolds to the north.

First founded by Solarians in 94 CE as an outpost to protect the province of Albannica, the settlement quickly grew into a major colony. In the time of the Hexarchy Morwall grew into a prominent market town, and was eventually chosen after the Conquest of Estmere to serve as the capital of the country. The city exploded in population and relevance during the Industrial Revolution, with Morwall emerging as a major economic centre and manufacturing hub. After the Great War the city become a major centre for immigration, and has emerged as diverse and multicultural modern city.

Morwall is governed as part of the constituent entity of Greater Morwall, with power vested in the legislative Greater Morwall Council and the directly-elected Mayor, which is currently Darrell Garner. The city is considered a single metropolitan county for ceremonial purposes, but the internal boroughs are more commonly used for administrative purposes. The city is home to the Parliament of Estmere and a number of other government buildings.

Morwall has consistently been ranked as a first-rate city by the World City Studies Institute, and the city is an important economic hub in Estmere and east Euclea. The city has a considerable financial sector, a prominent manufacturing hub, and a burgeoning service industry. Riverside is an important financial hub, while Redwoods is a major centre for media. The city is a hub for science and technology, with the University of Morwall and its constituent colleges being highly ranked institutions at the cutting edge of research in the natural, social and applied sciences.
