The Garetolian Independence Party was a political party in Garetolia. Originally founded in 1960 with the aim of gaining independence for Garetolia, the party became redundant in the early 1980s. In July 1986, Komo Kanano announced the dissolution of the party. Although claiming to be a big tent party, the GIP was ideologically more left-wing than other certain political parties.
