The 2001 Garetolian Film Festival was the third showing of the Garetolian Film Festival. It was held from 19 December 1999 to 25 December 1999. Like every other event of the type, it featured 13 films. The prize for Best Comedy was awarded to Fraude, the prize for Best Action was awarded to Domosi, the prize for Best Horror was awarded to The Flight That Wouldn't End, and the prize for Best Film was given to Fraude. It was hosted by Jeremy Kolton; the event was originally planned to be Martin Sellers, but the invitation was withdrawn following a domestic violence case involving Sellers and his wife, Molina Sellers.
