The 2000 Garetolian Film Festival was the second showing of the Garetolian Film Festival. It was held from 19 December 2000 to 25 December 2000. Like every other event of the type, it featured 13 films. The prize for Best Comedy was awarded to We're Together Like a Knife in Julius Caesar's Back, the prize for Best Action was awarded to Traps 2, the prize for Best Horror was awarded to Shattered Mirror, and the coveted Best Film award was given to Shattered Mirror.

Pierre LaGoon A drama film that follows the struggles of Pierre LaGoon, a French tourist who finds himself trapped in a remote Pacific Island.
Problenesia A comedy-drama about a criminal who, in order to avoid being arrested, runs for President of French Polynesia. Despite the similar name and a loosely similar plot, the film is unrelated to the problems.
River of the Gone, Lost, and Long Forgotten A horror film about a river in rural Garetolia that lives up to its name, according to local legend.
The Gun A dark/black comedy film about a man whose attempts to dispose of an unwanted handgun cause trouble and disdain.
Spods A comedy film about a man who invents an energy drink, Spods, which he claims will give the drinker's ex-partner bad luck. Rumored to have been loosely inspired by Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy.
