Robert Casey-Harel (born 26 January 1960) is a Carlosian politician, economist and Army veteran. He has been a Member of Parliament for Secano North-Central constituency since 1996 and has served as Minister for Finance since 2011. Casey-Harel is an economist and is considered to be one of the most prominent proponents of distributism in Carloso, having written several best-selling books on economic and social theory. As Minister of Finance, he has been credited with facilitating the reindustrialisation of Carloso and severely curbing the operations and influence of large banks and international financial institutions in the country, favouring community banking and credit unions as an alternative.

Early life

Robert Casey-Harel was born on 26 January 1960 in Secano. His ancestry mostly originates from Ireland and Spain. His great-great-grandfather, Isaac Harel, was a Jewish immigrant who came to Carloso from France in the 1800s.

Personal life

Casey-Harel married Elizabeth Steward in 1988. They have eight children, including triplets. He is a Catholic.
