The RG 420 is a family of battle rifles first concepted in 2014. It was primarily developed and manufactured by Rainford Group.

Being larger caliber version of the RG 417, and chambered for the 7.62x51mm RG rifle cartridge, it is intended for use where the penetrative power, stopping power, and range of the 5.56x45mm EB RG 417 would be insufficient. The RG 420 is gas-operated, has a rotating bolt, and is capable of selective fire. Later on, it was developed into the RG 425, where it was redesigned more suited to the DMR role. It replaced the obsolete KAC-411 in the DMR role within several Commonwealth nations, except for Concordia, where the latter remained in service as a result of Rainford Group's ban on selling its arms to Concordia in 2015.
