Adelaide (19 June 1851 – 26 February 1891; aged 39), born Adelaidas von Melderis was the Grand Duchess of Hytekia and Grand Duchess of Višnevas between 18 November 1873 and 7 April 1884, until the countries were unified under the Kingdom of Hytekojuznia, where she ruled as Queen between 7 April 1884 and her death on February 26, 1891. Her reign was marked with exorbitant and lavish spending, divide between the royalty and people, and administrative incompetence, albeit successful military conquests of southern Mascylla. Many historians mark the reign of Adelaide to be the first significant event that culminated in the 1917 revolution that established the People's State of Hytekojuznia.

Born in 1851 to previous Grand Duke Hans II and his wife, Ada of Lielosta, at Breinermoor Palace in Krasno, she was raised as a Ditanist on orders of her father, who was known for his connection with the common folk and the expansion of the Hytek state through the acquiring of Mögtland, Saarow and Bad Ulerst from Mascylla in the Saarow War in 1855. Due to her father's long life, she was inexperienced with ruling and didn't ascend to the throne until age 22, where she immediately began large spending on palaces across the country, including the famous Hans Palace in Grobina, which was the most expensive piece of architecture in the world at the time of its completion. Attempting to expand her influence across Lake Sigismund, Adelaide launched the Konreid Campaign in 1875 to conquer the city, which was technically successful although resulted in heavy losses from the resulting siege of the city.

Adelaide spent most of her life at Breinermoor Palace, and came to regard the Palace as her personal home, a deviation from the usual royal palaces in central Krasno which previous royals had resided. She oversaw the official union between Hytekia and Juznia into the Kingdom of Hytekojuznia in 1884, being crowned the new state's first Queen in the same year. A year later, she conquered the large region of Elpland from Mascylla, resulting in humiliation for the Hesurian kingdom, and eventually culminated in the beginning of the Continental War. In 1889, she created the Hytekojuznik Parliament amidst growing calls for increasing democracy in the country, and the parliament initially was a pioneering move in democratic reforms in Erdara. Two months later, Fabian Katz, a known critic of Adelaide, was elected to the position of Chancellor. Adelaide was unhappy with the choice and dissolved the parliament indefinitely and had Katz imprisoned on treason charges.

Adelaide's lavish lifestyle resulted in the royal being struck with ill health often throughout her life, and only had two issue, both named Johannes. In 1891, aged 39, Adelaide suffered what is now believed to be a heart attack as a result of her increasing weight and unhealthy diet, although the truth regarding her death was not revealed officially until 1921 due to laws regarding defamation of monarchs, and the death was regarded as a "hunting accident" until then.
