Christopher Barron (born May 29, 1970) is a Zamastanian politician and businessman who served as the Governor of Northern Isle since 2016 to 2022. Prior to this he was the Representative for Northern Isle's 19th district from 2008-2016, succeeded by Sabine Armitage. A member of the Blue Conservative Party, his tenure as governor has been marked by an emphasis on economic growth, mainly housing, infrastructure improvements, childcare vouchers, and the maritime sectors.
Born in the border town of Pesargamo, Barron and his family were made internally-displaced refugees during the Second Danaska War. He earned a BA from the University of Providence in 1991, and began working in the provincial legislature as an aide. In 1994 he became Northern Isle's Undersecretary of Health and Human Services under Governor Garreth Cellucci. After working in government for eight years, Barron left to become CEO of Providence Medical Associates and later Hellema Health Care, a nonprofit health benefits company. In 2008, he returned to politics and was elected to Congressional Hall, beating incumbant GLP candidate William Craine. In 2016 he ran for governor against incumbant Stephanie Farney, and he endorsed Sabine Armitage to take his congressional seat over the favored BCP Caucus Chair Keenan Lawrence. Both Barron and Armitage won their respective elections, and the two are considered the most well known BCP politicians in the province. Nonpartisan polls consistently listed him among the nation's most popular governors. He narrowly lost reelection to Progressive Alliance candidate Inderpal Sinhmar in 2022.
