Corona Spinea University ('Crown of Thorns University') is a university in Trasimene, Amalfi. Founded in 841 as the first of the six (now five) ancient universities of Amalfi, it is the oldest university in continuous operation in Borealia.
Corona Spinea is generally regarded as the preeminent centre of arts and humanities in Amalfi and has won numerous awards in these areas. Its engineering department is also among Amalfi's leaders in the field. Most recently, the university was named Amaliftan University of the Year in 2015.
