Second Europan War

Middle East Campaign

Blazkowicz initially started as a Lieutenant under Torch Company, where he was exposed to early Special operations tactics. Gerald Ingram, his commanding officer would notice David's commanding presence, hence he trained Blazkowicz in the field of strategies and command. This resulted in Blazkowicz being promoted to Captain. During the Second Battle of Seleucia, Blazkowicz saw his first action commanding a company under the name Crown Company. Here, he was reunited with fellow Erebonians and classmate Märtti Albarea. He also developed a close bond with Kaoru Atsushi, a captain whom he met during his time in the academy.

Later when Torch Company was reassigned to Erebonia, Blazkowicz and Crown Company carried on the role as the primary special operations unit for the SAS in the Middle East. Undertaking a vast operations of espionage, sabotage, and surveillance, Crown Company often took the biggest risk and met huge success. Under Blazkowicz command, Crown Company became immediately recognized, even given recognition by Field Marshal Archibald Sugiyama. Following the defection of Quách Ngọc Tuyết, Crown Company eventually accepted Free Quenminese volunteers. Initially, the Bethausians of Crown Company weren't keen on accepting their Quenminese counterparts but as time flew, they eventually grew a strong bond with the rest of the company, especially with Blazkowicz having a strong stance against discrimination.

The Emperor's Cross Citation

When the company travelled to the Elyagan Valley, the company was tasked with liberating certain Imperial strongpoints in the area. On the night of June 1, Blazkowicz and Crown Company moved in to secure the eastern part of the Otakul Highlands. By this time, the Quenminese had taken steps to counter Blazkowicz and his commandos. However, the countermeasure came up short given that Blazkowicz and Crown Company were successful in countering their attempts. As they attacked the 2nd outpost by the first hour of June 2, Blazkowicz and Crown Company came under attack by the rear with 3 Quenminese tanks and 2 Quenminese squads. To make matters worse, the outpost had been alerted of their presence following the artillery attack on the 2nd outpost, hence the Quenminese commander in the area opted to attempt to surround Crown Company. As both Keith Varrot's 2nd Squad and Quách Ngọc Tuyết's 3rd Squad were desperately pinned down, Blazkowicz ordered his men to fight back. Equipped with a Balambian 71-round Kpist/-31 submachine gun, a PIAT launcher, 2 Balambian Molotovs, and 1 Balambian 4kg Kasapanos TNT Stick Grenade, Blazkowicz navigated enough to get his PIAT in range to destroy the tanks. During this movement, Blazkowicz successfully took out 10 Quenminese soldiers with his KP31 and 3 tanks using his PIAT and Molotovs. Running out of PIAT shells, he crawled to his friend, Märtti Albarea to get 3 PIAT shells before crawling back to flank again. However, a tank was dangerously close to Crown Company's position, hence Blazkowicz immediately moved at pointblank range to disable it, but injuring him in the process. Despite his injuries, Blazkowicz still managed to destroy 3 more tanks and take out 12 more Quenminese soldiers as he moved up to the 2nd Outpost. During this attempt, Tuyet's 3rd Squad successfully managed to flank around the 2nd Outpost and take down the Quenminese trying to bog down the rest of Crown Company. Kushineda arrived an hour following the attack and ordered Blazkowicz to attempt to destroy a brewing Quenminese force to the east.

Later on with the attack of the 3rd Outpost, Blazkowicz and Crown Company came under attack from the rear. However, Blazkowicz once again flanked around the attacking force and gunned down 5 soldiers before ordering the entire company to charge on the outpost. Here, Blazkowicz destroyed the last Quenminese tank with his Balambian 4kg TNT Stick Grenade. The area was declared secure by 4am. Blazkowicz's actions would not go unnoticed by Erebonian General Brian Regnitz, who visited Blazkowicz later that morning to award him Erebonia's most highest and most prestigious award for valour, The Emperor's Cross.

War Office, 2 June 1942

His Imperial Majesty, THE EMPEROR has been graciously pleased to approve the award of THE EMPEROR'S CROSS to:-

Major David John Blazkowicz, Crown Company, Special Air Service

On the night of the 1st of June, Blazkowicz and Crown Company were tasked with talking a part of the Otakul Highlands to allow the insertion of Allied armoured force the following day into the area. Attacking in the stroke of night, Blazkowicz hoped to give relief to Lucian Brigadier Tsukuyo Kushineda's incoming armoured force. Kushineda herself had personally seen to oversee the operation's success. Successfully attacking the 1st outpost without any loss nor wounded, Blazkowicz and Crown Company moved on. However, the Quenminese were alerted of Crown Company's presence in the area. By the accounts of Crown Company's Free Quenminese Sergeant, Quách Ngọc Tuyết, the Quenminese attempted to pincer Crown Company with a light force ambushing their rear as they moved into a village to attack the 2nd outpost. Crown Company faced at least 8 tanks and 2 companies of Quenminese troops. Pinned down on both sides, the 50-men strong Crown Company was hopelessly pinned down and was slowly beginning to be flanked. However, Blazkowicz took upon himself the task to free his men out of the encirclement. Under the cover of darkness, Blazkowicz, armed with a Balambian KP31, PIAT, and 3 AT weapons, moved into the tree line to flank the lightly numbered ambush force and 3 tanks. The action resulted with Blazkowicz taking out 10 Quenminese soldiers, wounding 7, and destroying 3 tanks, which forced the southern flank to break off its attack and retreat from the scene. However, the Quenminese force near the outpost were dangerously getting close to Crown Company's position, hence Blazkowicz immediately ran to his comrade to restock on AT rounds and explosives. Blazkowicz would later see a tank charging towards the lines, further adding danger to nearly eliminating the entire company. Immediately, Blazkowicz went at pointblank range to engage the tank with his PIAT, destroying it but wounding himself in the process. Despite his wounds, Blazkowicz called in artillery strike on the Quenminese force before leading a charge to finally take the outpost and destroying 2 more tanks.

Later on, Blazkowicz was assigned by Brigadier Kushineda to eliminate a 3rd outpost preparing to retake the 2nd outpost. Wasting no time, Blazkowicz gathered half of Crown Company to attack the 3rd outpost. During this attack, Crown Company was nearly flanked again, but Blazkowicz using his knowledge of the terrain flanked around and gunned down the entire Quenminese flanking force without any concern for his own life. He disabled one last Quenminese tank before calling the entire company to charge. Seeing as to how the flanking force had failed, and coupled with more artillery strikes, the Quenminese were forced to retreat. The operation itself bore no loss to Crown Company but sustaining at least 10 wounded.

The actions of Major Blazkowicz that day had not only allowed Allied armour into the Otakul Highlands and securing a vital road critical to the entire operation, but also saving the entire lives of the very unit he commanded. With this, Blazkowicz, who had a complete disregard for his own safety, has been deemed worthy of receiving Erebonia's highest award.
