Foreign relations of Vyvland

The Foreign relations of Vyvland are the responsibility of the Vyvlander Foreign Ministry, currently headed by Foreign Minister Rydulv Yge. Vyvland maintains diplomatic relations with many nations across every continent of Esquarium. It is also a member of multiple international organisations including the Organisation of Esquarian Nations, Esquarian Community and Northern Sea Defence Organisation, the latter of which is headquartered in Vlud. Vyvlander foreign policy is focussed around building diplomatic and economic ties with other countries and around peaceful conflict resolution.

List of embassies

Foreign embassies are located in either Vlud, the capital of North Vyvland and reunified Vyvland up to 2006, or Lorence, the current capital city and capital of South Vyvland. Many countries who had significant embassies in Vyvland before the country split in 1935 have moved back into their Lorence embassies, such as Nevanmaa. However some have yet to make the move for financial or other reasons; the two cities are only a short distance from one another and many Vyvlander government agencies are still located in Vlud.

	Vyvland and Geadland enjoy very warm relations, with centuries of cultural contact between the two neighbouring countries continuing to this day. Geadland, especially Bondhaven, is Vyvlanders' second-most common foreign travel destination, while the Geadish language is taught in many Vyvlander schools. Many Geads live in Vyvland and vice-versa; a Geadish population lives in the area of Vyvland around Lishag, while Geadland was the largest host nation for Swedish Vyvlander refugees after their genocide in South Vyvland. The two countries share military coordination through the joint ownership of an aircraft carrier. In addition to the relations shown above, Vyvland has three consulates in Geadland; in Arje, Bondhaven and Eskrau.

	Although Vyvland and Luziyca have had intertwined histories for a long time, the two countries have not always got on well. Luziyca's support for the overthrowing of the government in the Vyvlander Civil War was widely condemned within Vyvland and internationally, and East Luziyca's support for the harsh South Vyvlander regime was disliked by many, including supporters of the nationalist government. Many nationalist supporters felt East Luziyca was meddling in their affairs, for example through the installation of Erman Sanker. West Luziyca was more sympathetic to the Northern government, having diplomatic relations with the North, and maintaining an embassy in Vlud until 1991 when it was reunited with the East, while East Luziyca maintained an embassy in Lorence post-unification. Since Vyvlander reunification, relations have improved, although the Luziycan military base at Syfmion in Vyvland has been a source of tension between the two countries.

	Namo-Vyvlander relations are cordial. The two countries have shared thousands of years of diplomatic contact. Liberationist Namor supported North Vyvland against South Vyvland during the years of Vyvland's partitioning. After reunification, there remains Namorese criticism over the Luziycan base in Syfmion, Vyvland, as well as frustration among some Namorese officials over what they believe is Vyvland pursuing a policy of appeasement towards reunified Luziyca. Nevertheless, there are strong cultural interchanges between the two countries.

	Vjaarland and Vyvland have strong diplomatic ties enhanced by a shared and intertwining history and ongoing cultural links. Vjaarland is a key geopolitical ally, with both nations being members of NOSDO.
