Immigration Regulations & Types

Temporary Border Permit

The Temporary Border Permit (TBP) is a Makko Okoan travel document issued to non-citizens of the Empire of Makko Oko that are meant to assist with leaving or entering the nation, with entering typically being on a temporary basis. Temporary Border Permits are issued by the Emperor's Passport Office, which was established under the Nationality & Travel Act, along with the basis for temporary travel permits.

Temporary Border Permits mainly see their use when an individual is stateless, and looking for a nation to call home, a citizen who had their citizenship revoked, but has citizenship in another nation, among other scenarios, with some of them laid out under the NTA.

Some worry that the Temporary Border Permits could be deemed fake by immigration officials when entering or leaving the nation due to the lack of a printed reason, even though that reason is still inputted internally within government systems.

Dual Citizenship Policies

Dual citizenship was allowed for much of the era of the Republic Of Makko Oko, but after the Civil Transition War, that allowance was abolished in favor of a total blacklist system, wherein Makko Okoan citizens may only be citizens of the Empire Of Makko Oko, and may not hold citizenship in any other nation, or face losing citizenship status in Makko Oko, even if you obtained it by birthright.

This position was only solidified with the enactment of the Nationality & Travel Act, wherein it states that a loss of citizenship may occur due to the entitlement or granting of foreign citizenship.

Passports

The Empire Of Makko Oko has multiple types of passports, with each type serving a specific need and purpose both bureaucratically, and for the person themselves in some cases. Each passport type is essentially the same to one another, excluding the color of the cover and the endorsement text that appears on the citizens' identification page or endorsements page, with multiple endorsements able to be added onto a single passport. Typically though, each passport type only has 1 endorsement.
