Lu Yanling (Xiaodongese: 陆艳玲; Lù Yánlíng; born 20th September 1954) is a Xiaodongese politician who currently serves as the Presiding Officer of the State Presidium of Xiaodong as well as First Lady of Xiaodong, being the wife of incumbent State Chairman Yuan Xiannian. She previously served as Chief Minister of the Jiebu prefecture, having served in the position from 2008 to 2013 as well as acting Chairperson of the State Presidium of Xiaodong from 2016-7.
Born in the township of Fuxin near the city of Rongzhuo in 1954 Lu is the grand daughter of former State Chairman and First Minister Lu Keqian. She pursued a political career after attending the University of Rongzhuo joining the Xiaodong Regeneration Society in 1974. In 1977 she married Xiaodongese politician Yuan Xiannian, who later became First Minister between 2005-2017 and State Chairman from 2027-present. Lu served in the State Presidium of Xiaodong from 1993 to 2008, when she resigned from her seat after being made head of the Jiebu Regeneration Society regional branch and subsequently became the Chief Minister of the Jiebu Prefecture. She served in the role until 2016 when First Minister Xi Yao-tong appointed her as Presiding Officer of the State Presidium of Xiaodong after Yang Zhengming announced his retirement. She briefly served as acting State Chairwomen from 2016-2017. She is ranked the fourth most powerful person in Xiaodong after her husband, Xi Yao-tong and Second Minister Xu Bangguo.
Lu is considered to have close views with her husband, and currently serves on the Central Executive Committee of the Xiaodong Regeneration Society.
