World War II, also sometimes called the Resumed War was a second of the three global conflicts. Unlike its predecessor, it was fought on a more global scale. It was caused by the failure of the post-war system initiated by the Global Court of Arbitration, which spelled the doom of the First Interwar Period. Eventually, the war ended with the dismantling of colonial holdings and establishment of the International League. Despite its outcomes, the eventual Second Interwar Period ended with the outbreak of World War III.
