The Secretary General of the Lorecian Community is the head of the Lorecian Secretariat, the executive body of the Lorecian Community. The Secretary General leads a cabinet of Secretaries who are collectively accountable to the Lorecian Parliament. The cabinet directs Secretariat's civil service, sets the policy agenda and determines the legislative proposals it produces. The Secretary General is empowered to allocate portfolios amongst, reshuffle or dismiss Secretaries as necessary.

The Secretary General also represents the Lorecian Community abroad, together with the President of the Council of Lorecia and the High Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Security.

The current Secretary General is Anders Mårtensson, who took office on 24th of April 2018 after the Lorecian elections. He previously served as the prime minister of Scanonia from 2014.

Role

The Secretary General serves as the head of the Lorecian Secretariat and its cabinet, a principal executive body of the Lorecian Community. The Secretary General decides on the organisation of the Secretariat, allocates portfolios to members of the Secretariat and can make changes at any time, which means that it is its sole discretion to appoint and dismiss Secretaries and the High Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Security. Also, Secretary General determines policy agenda of the Secretariat and defends the general interest of the Lorecian Community as a whole. Together with the President of the Council of Lorecia and the High Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Security, the Secretary General represents the Lorecian Secretariat and the Community in the Lorecian Parliament debates, Council of Lorecia meetings, E10 Council of Nations summits, the World Assembly and other bilateral or multilateral summits with third countries.
