World War III, also sometimes called the Revenge War was a third of the three global conflicts. It was by far the most destructive, being responsible for up to 100 million dead and countless more wounded. The conflict was allowed by the lack of power the International League had during the Second Interwar Period, eventually causing a resurgence in revised imperalist and fastist tendencies in some countries that were defeated in the previous world war. The war ended with the decisive victory of the newly formed allied forces and establishment of the United Nations. It was the only conflict so far, in which nuclear weapons have been used.
