Xu Cheng Taoyuanese: 許誠; English: Philippe Cheng (21 April 1917) is a retired Taoyuanese officer who fought during the Second Europan War and later, in the War of Lorican Aggression. Cheng is known for his anti-Imperialist views and like most of the Taoyuanese at that time, were fighting for independence. He was one of the Taoyuanese teenagers who were forcibly conscripted in the Imperial Quenminese Army prior to the start of the Second Europan War. In 1937, Cheng went AWOL during the Quenminese campaign in the Middle East Theatre and successfully fled to the Allied lines. Here, he defected and swore an oath to the Quenminese Nationalist Movement, where most of the Taoyuanese sided with during the war. He was warmly accepted and was eventually sent to the United Kingdom to be trained, along with the Free Quenminese forces being trained there. Here, he found his expertise in hand-to-hand combat, hence he is often carrying a Dadao in the field.

Later on, he was personally contacted by Free Quenminese leader and fellow Taoyuanese Soong Feng-jeou, who had him transferred to the SOE, and consequently, the SAS to learn more about the early forms of special operations. In the autumn of 1942, Cheng was given a field commission as a Lieutenant to lead a Taoyuanese contingent and was assigned to Crown Company under the command of Major David John Blazkowicz. Cheng's abilities in the field greatly impressed Blazkowicz. His experience in Crown Company was also marked by frequent disagreements with his Quenminese counterpart, Quách Ngọc Tuyết.

Cheng is credited for the later creation of the Special Airborne Service Regiment in 1949.
