The Ethlorek Community, officially known as the Community of Ethlorek Nations under the Sidereal Crown (Trellinese: Metarin Ethlorek Kurati ineq Toron Fe'vra), is a multinational organisation contained within the Trellinese Empire. Established in the 1950s, it was conceived as a unifying political forum for the protectorates and client-states of Trellin during the period of Trellinese isolationism which lasted from 1913 to 2014.

The organisation's membership includes Arimathea, Cadenza and Kur'zhet. Azmir, a founding member, was suspended from the organisation between 1973 and 1977 for failing to pay membership fees in response to Cadenza's efforts to acquire territory around Laeryt; it was readmitted when the Trellinese monarchy agreed to finance its membership. Azmir left the organisation on becoming a province of Trellin in 1988. Berique, Hysera, the Isles of Velar, Trellin and Txekrikar are partner states of the Community.

Since the early 2000s, much of the political and economic policy of the Ethlorek Community has been formulated directly by the Sidereal Crown. The focus of the Ethlorek Community has become more diplomatic and cultural, fostering closer ties among its member and partner states. Events under its aegis include the Ethlorek Cup, in football, and the Maritime Parade among member states' navies and coastguards, which replaced the Imperial Fleet Review.

Structure

The Ethlorek Community is overseen by a rotating presidency, cycling through its member states in alphabetical order. The presidency is held for a one-year term by the nation's head of state. The organisation's headquarters is in Martheqa, the capital of Trellin. Summits are held every two years, generally in the president nation, although on four occasions (1952, 1954, 1974 and 1990) they have been held in Martheqa.

Relations

In addition to fostering ties among its member and partner states, the Ethlorek Community acts as a liaison for its members with other nations and organisations. For instance, it is a signatory of the Pennington Protocols with Valle Crucis since 1975 and, since 1983, a partner of Morroseta. In several instances, such international agreements have led to institutional arrangements such as museum exchanges.
