===Education===
Zoe's early education was primarily handled by private tutors and lessons from the provost of [[University of Castellum Iohannes XIII#Constituent colleges|Empress Alexandra College, Castellum]]. She was eventually enrolled at Sanctus Gabrielius, a private primary school in Castellum. Zoe began her secondary education at St Gabriel's in Castellum, though attended Pescia Academy boarding school in Adrianople, where she finished her education. Following her graduation, she was admitted to St. Anna's College at the [[University of Haenna]]. After her gap year, she began taking entry classes at St. Anna, though dropped her classes one month into the semester before her engagement to then [[Jason VI Augustus of Latium|Jason, Prince of Youth]]. Zoe would later re-enroll in 2003, graduating with a degree in economics.

==Marriage==
==Marriage==
Zoe's personal life was relatively quiet before to her engagement to then [[Jason VI Augustus of Latium|Jason, Prince of Youth]]. Before to attending university, Zoe spent two months of her gap year in [[Lyncanestria]] and [[Lihnidos]]. The remaining time of her gap year, she resided in downtown Castellum at a penthouse owned by her brother [[John Verrucosus, Duke of Perusia|John]] that she shared with two friends from secondary school. Imperial Office records state that in summer 1992 Zoe first visited the Palace of Augustus for a royal mixer prior to the opening ceremony of the year's [[Ludi Circenses]]. Records demonstrate that her invitation was a personal one sent by [[Diana Augusta|Empress Diana Augusta]]. This event was the first meeting between Zoe and her future husband, Jason.
===Engagement and wedding===
===Engagement and wedding===
Zoe became engaged to then Jason, Prince of Youth on 1 December 1992, with the official announcement occurring the following day. Zoe dropped out of school, having only attended classes for one month, and moved into Velia House in Castellum as the Prince's official residence. Zoe was nineteen years old when she married Jason on 27 May 1993, with the wedding taking place at [[Sancta Sapientia]], in a ceremony led by Archbishop of Castellum Marcus Nasennius. The ceremony was attended by over 200 individuals including monarchs from all throughout Belisaria and guests from nearly all countries of the [[Ajax|world]].
Zoe became engaged to then [[Peter, Crown Prince of Keld|Prince Peter of Keld]] on 7 June 1992. An official announcement from then senators [[Peter I, King of Keld|Duke Peter of Keld]] and [[Josephus Verrucosus]] followed a week later. Prior to their engagement, there was no announcement of their courtship. Zoe enrolled in university as planned, but did not begin taking classes until 1997. By November 1992, Zoe was pregnant with the couple’s first child, which resulted in the families expediting the wedding. Zoe was 6 months pregnant when she married Peter on 29 April 1993. The ceremony was held at [[Sancta Sapientia]], and to this date is the only non-Catholic marriage to take place at the famed imperial basilica. The wedding and reception was attended by over 200 individuals including monarchs and guests from all throughout the [[Ajax|world]].

Zoe was official given the rank of <nowiki>"princess"</nowiki> and became Princess of Youth immediately following the wedding after the issuance of {{wp|Letters Patent|letters patent}} by both Empress [[Diana Augusta]].
Following the marriage, Zoe was granted the rank of <nowiki>"princess"</nowiki> by [[Peter I, King of Kel|Duke Peter]] and became a Princess of Keld.
===Children and family===
===Children and family===
Zoe and Jason officially resided at Velia House from 1993 until his ascension in 1997; however, the couple relocated to Adrianople after their honeymoon. From 1995 until 1996, she resided at Questros Palace, in Thessalona, [[Belfras]], while her husband served as [[Lord Palatine of Belfras|Lord Palatine]]. Their first child, [[Constantine XX of Latium|Constantine]], was born on 15 March 1994 in Adrianople. Zoe would have two more children over the course of her marriage to Jason, [[Prince Michael of Latium|Michael]] and [[Selene of Latium|Selene]].
Zoe and Peter primarily resided in [[Castellum]] during the earliest days of their marriage. It was there that their first child, [[Josephina of Keld|Princess Josephina]] was born in 1993. This was followed by the birth of their first son, [[Paul of Keld|Prince Paul]], in 1994.

Before the sudden abdication of [[Diana Augusta]] in August 1997 and the reports of declining health of [[Leo, Prince Consort]], Zoe returned to Castellum and Velia House with her husband and children in 1996. Both Zoe and her husband undertook numerous imperial duties during this time, including representing Latium along with her husband on any foreign visits he would undertake. She was present for the State Opening of the Senate in 1996, which was the first time in recorded history that a reigning monarch did not open the Senate themselves.

She and her husband were jointly coronated during the same ceremony on 25 December 1997.
===As Empress===
Zoe had mixed popularity as Empress, with many associating her with having a cold demeanor. Courtiers, both in Adrianople and later Castellum, note that Zoe was overly protective of her children and often tried to keep them isolated from others, as a result causing conflicts within the Imperial family. In June 1998, [[Diana Augusta|Empress Diana Augusta]] made one of her first public appearance of the year with Jason, Zoe and their children for a visit to the [[Castellum ab Alba#Culture|Castellum Zoo]]. The appearance was soon wrought with controversy as Zoe was photographed preventing her son, [[Constantine XX of Latium|Constantine]], from taking a photograph with his father and grandmother. Imperial Offices managed to end publication of the story through {{wp|Lèse-majesté|lex maiestas}} laws.
===Divorce===
Rumors of infidelity plagued Zoe's marriage to [[Jason Augustus|Emperor Jason]] from the very beginning with the rumors and declarations by [[Honoria Caprenia, Marchioness of Espo]] that Jason was the father of her son [[George Caprenius|George]]. While Jason never confirmed these rumors and Imperial Offices, along with Praetorian authorities, threatened to prosecute The Marchioness of Espo for violation of {{wp|Lèse-majesté|lex maiestas}} laws and sanction from the [[Emperor's Council of Latium#Committees|Imperial Committee on Peerages]]. These rumors of Jason's infidelity with not only Espo, but also other women continued to persist, eventually culminating in rumors that [[Ghant|Ghantish ambassador]] [[Marsella Atmos]] had become involved in a secret relationship with [[Jason Augustus|Emperor Jason]] by 1999.

Before the divorce was announced, it became known to the public that Zoe had started spending her time at Villa d'Iulia Concordia in Utica, while Emperor Jason had often taken to retreats in either [[Adrianople (Latium)|Adrianople]] or [[Ravenna]]. Church and state documents regarding Zoe's divorce have not yet been released under Transparent Information Act, resulting in a great deal of uncertainty as to which individual initiated the divorce. However, it is unlikely that any records pertaining to the divorce will ever be fully disclosed. While Zoe suffered from a lack of popularity as Empress, she saw a sharp increase in support and sympathy once the news was first announced by Imperial Offices. The announcement was made on 2 January 2000, stating the divorce was dealt with in private and was effective immediately. Neither Zoe nor Jason ever spoke publicly about the divorce
Zoe gave birth to their third child [NAME], in , whom was the last of their children to be born in Latium. Zoe and Peter’s remaining children, [NAME], [NAME], and [NAME], became the first members of the House of Keld to be born in [[Ghant]] since TBD.

Zoe holds one of the shortest tenure's as Empress consort, at just over two years long. She is also the only Latin consort to have a divorce with the monarch.
In 1994, [[Peter I, King of Keld|Duke Peter]] resigned from his position as [[Praeses Senatus]] and the [[Senate of Latium|Senate]] to join the [Rebellion]] with a volunteer force. Peter later died in the war and was granted a number of honors, including the restoration of the family as rulers of [[Keld]]. These honors saw Zoe’s father-in-law, [[John IX, King of Keld|Duke John of Keld]] became the first King of Keld since the family’s removal in the early 20th century. As a result, Zoe was granted the title of Crown Princess of Keld due to her marriage to Peter, who became Crown Prince.

===University re-enrollment===
[[File:Zoe Verrucosa as Empress.jpg|thumb|right|200px|Official portrait of Zoe as Crown Princess, 1998.]]
Following the divorce, Zoe re-enrolled in university, and began attending classes at St. Anna's College at the University of Haenna. While at St. Anna, Zoe focused her studies on business and entered into the business program during her second year. Zoe was notorious for skipping classes to spend time with her children, which was regularly documented by the press, causing her grades to slip. She avoided falling into academic issues or probation, and eventually graduated in 2003 with honors. Between her first and second years, and again between her second and third years, Zoe became more involved with [[Verruscosi Industries|her family's business]], and had secured a position immediately following her graduation from St. Anna's.
Zoe was officially recognized as Crown Princess in 1995. However, she and her husband would remain in Castellum for the following year due to her pregnancy with their third child. Her service as a Lady of the Chamber to Empress Stephania ceased at this time.

==Ascension of Constantine XX==
==Public life==
During her tenure as Empress, Zoe became the chief patron to over a hundred charities, most of which she continued to be a patron of after her divorce. Some of these charities include: Latin Youth Sports Association, Alexandria Youth Symphony, Gelonian National Opera and Orchestra, National Cancer Association, National Hellenic Orchestra, Foundation for the Blind, National Society, among others. Zoe also served as the president or honorary chair of a number of non-profits including the Women's Rights Organization, Saint Adeodatus Community, among others.

In 2005, Zoe was transferred ownership of Villa d'Iulia Concordia, the Verrucosus familial estate from her mother. Zoe has resided at the estate since 2005, though owns a number of properties throughout Latium and neighboring countries. In July 2016 purchased a penthouse in the [[Castellum ab Alba#Subdivisions|City of Castellum]].
Zoe delayed her planned move to Keld 1996, and according to courtiers attempted to remain in Castellum or Ghish. In June 1996, Zoe purchased a home in Ghish. This, along with a clash of personalities has resulted in a tense relationship between Zoe and her mother-in-law [[Cyrenna Lianu]]. The most public instance took place when Cyrenna and John IX accompanied Peter and Zoe with their children for a visit to the [Keld Zoo] in 1999. Zoe was photographed arguing with Cyrenna, and preventing her children Josephina and Paul from being photographed with Cyrenna. Zoe denied the allegations and sought legal action to suppress the photographs and stories from being reported in Ghantish media.

Zoe has not been involved in any relationships following her divorce, instead saying that she <nowiki>"wishes to spend time focusing on [her] children."</nowiki> Zoe annually hosts the Verrucosus Industries corporate retreat at her home, Villa d'Iulia Concordia in Utica, where her children were often present.
During her tenure as Crown Princess, Zoe has served as the chief patron to over a hundred charities throughout Ghant and Latium. These charities include: Keld Youth Sports Association, Ascanium Youth Symphony, Utica National Opera and Orchestra, National Cancer Association, Keld Royal Orchestra, Foundation for the Blind, Keld Royal Society, among others. Zoe also served as the president or honorary chair of a number of non-profits including the Women's Rights Organization, among others.

Following the annulment, Zoe re-enrolled in university, and began attending classes at St. Anna's College at the University of Haenna. Zoe Verrucosa, Queen of Keld (Appia Verrucosa Zoe Damiane Silvia Selene; b. 11 March 1972) is the Crown Princess of Keld by virtue of her marriage of Peter, Crown Prince of Keld. Zoe became engaged to Peter of Keld in 1992, and the two married in 1993. Together, the couple has six children. Should her husband ascend to the throne of Keld, Zoe will become Queen consort.

Zoe is the youngest child of businessman and former Praeses Senatus, Duke Josephus Verrucosus, and Lady Damiane Vitruvia. Zoe was educated at Pescia Academy, in Adrianople. Zoe served as a lady in waiting to Princess Eirene until 1993, and later as a Lady of the Chamber to Empress Stephania.

Zoe graduated from Galata College, Haenna with a degree in business and economics. She held a seat on the Verrucosa Tenura Board of Directors, of which her family owns a controlling ownership interest, from 2009 until 2017. She is also president or chair for a number of charities, including a seat on the board of regents of the University of Haenna, and the University of Ascanium. Though she officially resides in Keld, Zoe and her family routinely travel and maintain residences in Ghish and throughout Latium.

Early Life and education

Zoe was born on 11 March 1973 to the Duke Josephus Verrucosus, former Consul of Latium, and his wife Damiane Vitruvia at Villa d'Iulia Concordia, in Utica, Latium. She has three older brothers John and Florentine, and three older sisters Adula, Adriana, and Flora. Zoe was baptized into the Reformed Communion on 2 June 1972 at Sancta Sapientia in Castellum ab Alba. Her godparents were Diana I Augusta (a friend of her mother); Leo X Claudius (Diana’s husband); Constantia of Ravenna (a friend of her mother); and Alexander Vitruvius (her mother's brother).

Education

Zoe's early education was primarily handled by private tutors and lessons from the provost of Empress Alexandra College, Castellum. Anna's College at the University of Haenna. After her gap year, she began taking entry classes at St. Anna, though she took a leave of absence in her studies due to the announcement of her marriage and subsequent pregnancy. In 1997, Zoe re-enrolled at Galata College, graduating with a degree in business and economics.

Marriage

Engagement and wedding

Zoe became engaged to then Prince Peter of Keld on 7 June 1992. An official announcement from then senators Duke Peter of Keld and Josephus Verrucosus followed a week later. The ceremony was held at Sancta Sapientia, and to this date is the only non-Catholic marriage to take place at the famed imperial basilica. The wedding and reception was attended by over 200 individuals including monarchs and guests from all throughout the world.

Following the marriage, Zoe was granted the rank of "princess" by Duke Peter and became a Princess of Keld.

Children and family

Zoe and Peter primarily resided in Castellum during the earliest days of their marriage. It was there that their first child, Princess Josephina was born in 1993. This was followed by the birth of their first son, Prince Paul, in 1994.

Zoe gave birth to their third child [NAME], in , whom was the last of their children to be born in Latium. Zoe and Peter’s remaining children, [NAME], [NAME], and [NAME], became the first members of the House of Keld to be born in Ghant since TBD.

In 1994, Duke Peter resigned from his position as Praeses Senatus and the Senate to join the [Rebellion]] with a volunteer force. Peter later died in the war and was granted a number of honors, including the restoration of the family as rulers of Keld. These honors saw Zoe’s father-in-law, Duke John of Keld became the first King of Keld since the family’s removal in the early 20th century. As a result, Zoe was granted the title of Crown Princess of Keld due to her marriage to Peter, who became Crown Prince.

As Crown Princess

Official portrait of Zoe as Crown Princess, 1998.

Zoe was officially recognized as Crown Princess in 1995. However, she and her husband would remain in Castellum for the following year due to her pregnancy with their third child. Her service as a Lady of the Chamber to Empress Stephania ceased at this time.

Zoe delayed her planned move to Keld 1996, and according to courtiers attempted to remain in Castellum or Ghish. In June 1996, Zoe purchased a home in Ghish. This, along with a clash of personalities has resulted in a tense relationship between Zoe and her mother-in-law Cyrenna Lianu.

University re-enrollment

Following the annulment, Zoe re-enrolled in university, and began attending classes at St. Anna's College at the University of Haenna. Between her first and second years, and again between her second and third years, Zoe became more involved with her family's business, and had secured a position immediately following her graduation from St Anna's.
