Born and raised in Conelibek, Kjord obtained a degree in law at the University of North Conelibek and practiced labour law before joining the Socialist Party. Kjord served as a member of the Commons Council. In 2018, Kjord publicly left the Socialist Party and successfully ran for mayor in Conelibek as an independent candidate. Despite criticizing the organization for corruption, Kjord became the co-president of the Société Conelibek automatically upon becoming mayor, although the club has largely attempted to ignore and dismiss Kjord.
