Status of Wilskland
Wilskland, located primarily on the Wilsk peninsula of Nelbecia, is a province of Seketan that is recognised as an "independent state" by the Seketese constitution. The status of Wilskland is occasionally contentious and subject to disputes between the Wilsk and Seketese governments.
Wilsk nationalists assert the current province of Wilskland as the interupted contintuation of the Wilsk Republic which became de facto independent of the Nelbec Empire in 1917. During the Seketese Civil War, the state was aligned with the Kjedorates and eventually federated with the rest of Seketan in 1924 forming the Federal Republic of Seketan and Wilskland, whose named and instutions reformed one year later to remove Wilskland. The Wilsk representation movement integrated Wilskland into a unitary Seketese state with representation in the Commons Council, however retaining the Irvansky and constitutional guarantee of Wilsk self-determination.
Wilskland is a member state of the Nelbec Council.
