Fyedor (Wilsk: Fyedor; Seketese: Fjedor), officially the City Municipality of Fyedor (Wilsk: Vial-Gomil á Fyedor) is a city municipality the Seketese province of Wilsk. Located on the Aþenyor river valley along to southern Wilsk coastline, the municipality is the anchor of the Greater Fyedor Area. With a population of 402,872, it is the largest city in Wilskland and the 4th largest in Seketan. It is the largest non-Seketese city in Seketan, with 63% of its population being ethnically Wilsk, and a further 75% speaking Wilsk as their primary language, though it is also the most bilingual in Wilskland, with 68% speaking both Seketese and Wilsk.
The city was founded in 1242 as a trading outpost for wool within the then Szeye trade system, the town is one of the oldest in the Nelborne, with its oldtown being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Local aristocracy would expand the towns power over the next century to form what would become known as the Duchy of Wilskland. In modern times the city remains the political and cultural capital of Wilskland. In 2012 the city hosted the quinquennial Nelborne Games.
Today Fyedor is a major tourism hotspot in the Nelborne, with over 1 million annual tourists.
Etymology
The exact origins of the name "Fyedor" is unknown, especially given its popularity as both male first names and town names in Seketan and Wilskland. The city was first documented under that name in a 1332 trade map, though other contemporary names included Þampa, Cálat, and Necipai. During the early days of trade map making, it was not uncommon to label trade ports with the name of a local customs or trade officer, and it is currently suspected that given the commoness of Fyedor as a Wilsk first name, it was just adopted as the name of the town after many customs officers named such.

Seketan 1924-TodayEver since antiquity the Aþenyor river valley was populated with small farming villages, and thus formed the early Wilsk society. The first signs of settlement in the heart of todays Fyedor shows up in the 3rd century by proto-Wilsks. There is also disputed evidence of early Szejon settlement in the river valley, though this evidence largely disappears by the 4th century firmly making the area Nelbec.
Small signs of the start of the Szeye trade system show in the 11th century as Trjebian sailors and traders began exploring north for new trading opertunities. The first recorded existance of settlement appears in a 1242 Trjebian trade map under the name Ņad-agn, roughly meaning "nature port". With most trade coming into the region of Wilskland through this town, it slowly gained wealth and importance over it's neighbours, eventually cementing itself as the centre of its region after a 1367 trade war.

Primary language breakdown in Fyedor
In the 2020 Seketese census conducted by SekStats, Fyedor had a population of 402,872 in its 181,292 private dwellings, a total increase of 3.7% from the last census. With a land area of 51 km2 (20 sq mi), the city has a population density of 7,954.9/km2 (20,603/sq mi).
Fyedor is a the centre of the Greater Fyedor Area (GFA), which includes the cities of Becjonyn and Ylinc. The GFA has a total population of 720,371 in an area of 162 km2 amd a density of 4,446/km2.
Ethnicity
People of Nelbec ethnicities make up nearly the entirety of the Fyedor popualtion. The largest ethnic group by far is Wilsk (63%) followed by Seketese (33.5%) and Fjeskan (2.1%). It is the largest city in Seketan by non-Seketese population, with 76.5% (308,197) of it's population being non-Seketese.
Language
The Overwhelming majority language in Fyedor is Wilsk, with 75% of its citizens speaking it as their primary language and 94% being L2 in the language. Seketese is the 2nd most spoken language, with 22% of speakers, though 67% are considered L2 speakers. Wilsk is the main language of business and commerce in Fyedor, though some areas in the Seketese neighbourhoods of St.Alisk and Nárþan Seketese is used heavily. There is also a small community of jews who use Nelvojish within their community, though many still speak Wilsk.
