Kousuu (Senrian: 꼬우쑤우, Kousuu; Gyoumon: 広州) is the largest and most populous island in the Senrian archipelago and one of the "main islands" of Senria. It is located to the west of Tousuu across the Toyozimon Strait, to the north of Kanasima across the Nangyoku Inland Sea, to the northeast of Yuusuu across the Kahoumon Strait and Bay of Hisui, and to the east of Kisima and Rousima across the Soutuu Strait and Ransou Inland Sea. Kousuu separates the Lumine Ocean, which lies to its north, from the Honghai Sea, which is to the south.
Formed by the volcanic eruptions caused by the subduction of the Austral Plate under the Lumine Plate, Kousuu is the largest and most populated island within the Senrian archipelago, with [specifics tbd]. It contains both Senria's tallest mountain, Mount Senzou, and its largest lake, Lake Nio. [geography and climate]
The island is the historical and current center of Senrian political, economic, and cultural power, and is home to several of the country's largest and most important cities, including the national capital, Keisi, as well as Tosei, Simada, Yosida, Nisiyama, Ueda, and Koriyama. The island's south is dominated by the bulk of the Kouryuukaidou megalopolis, which runs the length of Kousuu from Iwase in the east to Nakamura in the west, and is home to much of Senria's industry; the northern side of the island, by contrast, is generally much less densely populated and relies more heavily on agriculture and fishing. Kousuu's expressway network is connected to those of Kisima, Kanasima, Tousuu, and Yuusuu by bridges, and its rail network is connected to all four of Senria's main islands by tunnels.
