Darpolukito's Roasted Chicken (Kertic: ꦥꦶꦠꦶꦏ꧀ꦧꦏꦂꦣꦂꦥꦭꦸꦏꦶꦠ "Pitik Bakar Darpålukitå"), commonly referred to as Miss Darpo's Chicken (Kertic: ꦥꦶꦠꦶꦏ꧀ꦏꦺꦩ꧀ꦧꦺꦴꦏ꧀ꦣꦂꦥ "Pitiké Mbok Darpå") domestically, and also by its native initials PBD overseas, is a Kertic restaurant chain headquartered in the town of Batang in the Kingdom of Ngawi. With a total of xxx locations internationally, it is the largest restauraint chain in Kertosono by number of locations, revenue, and number of employees. Since 2008, it has been part of the Darpolukito Group.
Nyi Sulasmi Darpolukito, who was already famous for her cooking locally, opened GN Sinar Jaya in her hometown of Batang in 1974. Though her restaurant sold various kinds of dishes and beverages, her restaurant insantly became famous for its traditional roasted chicken, frequently running out of chicken due to the large amount of orders. With the help of her husband, they rebranded the restaurant to GN Pitik Bakar Sinar Jaya to focus on specializing on roasted chicken in 1978. With the help of Darpolukito's husband Sosropuran, the franchise quickly grew and spread throughout Kertosono. In 1985, 41 locations had opened throughout the country. The following year, Sosropuran's infidelity became highlited, and Darpolukito severed ties with the restaurant and decided to establish GN Pitik Bakar Darpolukito in 1987. To emphasize that it was Darpolukito's restaurants and not her ex-husband's, Darpolukito installed her face on all her restaurants, which became the official logo of the restaurant and franchise in 1996. GN Pitik Bakar Darpolukito managed to compete with the original GN Pitik Bakar Sinar Jaya, and even outperformed it beginning in 1998. GN Pitik Bakar Darpolukito eventually closed all of its locations in 2005 due to poor sales and reception.
Darpolukito's Roasted Chicken was one of the first Kertic restaurant chains to expand into the international market beginning in the late 1990s. The chain was eventually coalesced and restructured into the Darpolukito Group in 2008 with Nyi Sulasmi Darpolukito stepping down as its CEO, handing it over to restauranteur G.M. Sumoharjo. It has since expanded rapidly domestically and internationally with the help of franchising and publicity.
