The Cróen Shark (CRG Russian:Кронская акула, Kronskaya Akula:Cróen Shark) are a sentient humanoid species in Sparkalia that exhibits a few adaptive characteristics partially based on environmental causes and almost exclusively lives within the borders of Crown Royal Goverment which is also the only majority Cróen Shark country. Although similar to Absukians, their evolutionary paths are completely different, and are a result of several freak accidents, Ser Morosol Cróen noted.
Biology
The Cróen Shark has different porportions compared to humans, noted by Colonial Researcher Ser Debussy Acorn II and Ser Morosol Cróen during the third and first expedition trips to (colony name in the Crown Royal). What was different was that the height-tail length ratio was 3:2, the combined length of the head and full torso was the lenght of their arms, and that the leg height was the same as the length of the tail, with some inddividuals having the tail a few centimeters longer than the rest. The species is exclusively female, due to unknown reasons. In shark folklore, this was a punishment from the gods.
Variaton
Physical Variaton
The differences vary a lot, many diagrams drawn by Ser Morosol Cróen during his stay at the colony capital on 12th Magnus 1500 AR. ocean-bound sharks have mostly muscles in their tail, and land-bound sharks have mostly fat stores in the tail, but not enough to hinder it's use. Muscle growth in different areas were different among different areas where these shorks inhabited, but not enough to consider them subspecies, only slightly adapted to their local enviroments, as Cróen wrote in his journal Ser Morosol Cróen's Discoveries 1500 AR. Most of the things he observed were confirmed by Ser Debussy Acorn II during his stay at Vladirostock, 10 Magnus 1599 AR. Although it was harder to actually observe some things, such as reproduction, due to the massive improvements that the Cróen Sharks went through.
Mimicry
The Cróen Shark exhibits mimicry on the skin level only, it's purpose was to better adapt to the surrounding environments. Deep blue sharks obviously have a darker shade of blue than the coastal sharks, who have a lighter shade of blue. Sharks that live in the forests typically have a dark blue-grey color similar to brown and those that live in the mountain ranges have a lighter blue closer to gray-white. Mimicry like this was obtained using survival of the fittest, where a shork that managed to get the most food was the most suitable mate.
Reproduction
Reproduction amongst sharks is a confusing topic, as it is similar to human reproduction, the omly differences are that the tails block the way, and that the sharks have a very long lifespan of over 1200 years. Yet somehow they can have children and give birth. One of the ways they can copulate was witnessed by Ser Morosol Cróen, and it turned out to be same sex intercourse, as he later wrote down on his journal. Cróen speculated that due do their reproduction system being extremly similar, humans and sharks could posses hybrid children.
On the 23rd of Umbra, 1600 AR, Ser Debussy Acorn II found through DNA samples that there was actually a male gender for the Cróen Shark, that was somehow locked from use.
