The history of Seketan spans the proclamation of the Kingdom of Seketan in the 9th century to the present Fourth Seketese Republic.

The earliest written records in Secenic script attested to the existence of a Secenic Empire which disintegrated into the Secenic Confederation, later adopting Christianity and transforming into the Kingdom of Seketan. Moress II of the Conils was the first king whose leadership, with the assistance of Saint Gjenor, implemented a widespread Christianization of his domain. The clergy produced Old Seketese literature with the Latin script.
