The IFA World Cup is the largest footballing event in Anteria. Hosted every two years by different nations, the World Cup has been on since 1888, however the 1905-1910 World Cups were cancelled due to the ongoing Great War at the time. The World Cup is important to Anterian culture and national relations.
History
The first World Cup was played in Judapest in 1888, and competed in by most nations at the time. The final was played by Kentalis who won 3-1, making history for the first ever World Cup win. Also in the 1800s, Kentalis win a second World Cup in a row in 1890, being a golden era for the nation.
As news spread of global conflict in Anteria, the IFA confirmed the World Cup would be cancelled until further notice in 1905. When the war ended in 1911, the World Cups resumed with the World Cup 1912.
