Avenue of the Asterias (Soravian: Алея Астеріасу; Aleya Asteriasu) is a major thoroughfare through the city of Orlavo, Vinalia. The avenue is known for its monuments and surrounding areas which have some of the most expensive real estate in the city. Its neighborhood "Asterias" is one of the most expensive neighbourhood in the country. It features numerous parks, malls, and shops. The street begins in east in the Plyazhnyy (Beach) Boulevard which is the last street before the coast, it runs for 3.3 km (2.05 mi) before merging into the North-South Orlav Avenue.

Originally called 33rd Avenue, the street was built in 1833, and was initially built for horse drawn carriages. A Soravian arsenal was located at the intersections of Orlav and 33rd. City authorities considered placing the Orlavo Palace of Democracy in the street but decided against it. Following 1890, city authorities struggling to deal with large influxes of people into Orlavo, decided to rebuild the 33rd Avenue to better accomodate incoming factory workers. The street was widened and became an important thoroughfare in the city. In the Battle of Orlavo in 1931, the street was severely damaged following heavy shelling, and fires that destroyed most of the street and its buildings. The street remained mostly unoccupied until 1937, when it was decided that the street would be widened and a series of monuments and parks constructed. Socialist doctrine of the People's Republic of Vinalia sought to establish a model for Socialist architecture. The street underwent severe renovations between 1937 and 1960, although by 1940 it had mostly been rebuilt.

Following reunification, the street became sight to major developments around the neighbourhood, which established it as a prominent area. Today large populations of internationals and tourists live or visit the area, and some of the most prominent hotels in Orlavo are placed in the street. The street remains a popular spot for residents and tourists alike, with several initiatives created by the central government to encourage physical activity in the area.

Plazas

From East to West

Plaza Vinalia

Located in the intersection between the Avenue of the Asterias and Plyazhnyy Boulevard. It features a 10 foot relief map of Vinalia in a monument, it also features statues of Vinalian heroes such as Omelyan Sahaidachny a top a horse, Markiyan Chornovil reading a book, and Valentyn Goloborodko raising a flag. Originally featuring just the relief map, the statues were added in 2003, and the park sections expanded. All the trees in the plaza are Vinalian Palms.

Plaza Chistovodia

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Markov Street (North), and 66th Street (South). It features a 15 foot obelisk reading the declaration of Independence of Chistovodia. In 1999, Chistovodia donated local trees to be grown in the park section of the plaza.

Plaza Cassier

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Vilma Street (North), and 65th Street (South). It features a 20 foot clock donated by Cassier following Vinalian independence in 1920, it survived the Battle of Orlavo. In 2000, a 5 foot marker was added which says "Thank you" in Soravian and Gaullican, in reference to Cassien goodwill. Two markers were made and the other is installed in New Rayenne. The Cassien Embassy was located in front of the plaza, but it has since moved to Vinalinsk.

Arucian Plaza or Plaza Bonaventure

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Kalma Street (North), and 64th Street (South). It features a 15 foot long mural which showcases Zapoyan images of Bonaventure and has existed since 1944. In 2004 the plaza incorporated the next plazas Plaza Sainte-Chloé, and Plaza Carucere, and was turned into a general plaza for the Arucian countries, at the time solely the flags of Sainte-Chloé, and Carucere were featured in their respective plazas. In 2007, three plaques in Gaullican were placed with the date of independence for each of the 3 countries. Although officially called Arucian Plaza, it is most commonly known as Plaza Bonaventure.

Rizealand Plaza

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Camden Street (North), and 63rd Street (South). Previously known as Plaza Sainte-Chloé until it was moved to Arucian Plaza in 2004. The plaza was rebuilt in 2004 as well. It features a 15 foot obelisk with the relief of Rizealand, along with the date of independence of Rizealand written down in Estmerish, Ghailish, and Gaullican. In 2013 Rizealand donated a statue of Vinalian scientist Ostap Martiukhin who won a Foirbeis Awards for his discoveries while living in Rizealand, it is the only plaza other than Plaza Vinalia to feature the national flag, as a sign of Martiukhin's Vinalian origins.

Plaza Ardesia

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Mela Street (North), and 62nd Street (South). Previously known as Plaza Carucere until it was moved to Arucian Plaza in 2004. The plaza was rebuilt in 2004 as well. The plaza features 3 10 foot long murals, with a fountain in the middle. The 3 murals depict scenes of Zapoyan and Úuchmáans which inhabited modern Ardesia and Vinalia. Behind the 3 murals the words "Let there be friendship and peace" are written in Soravian, Luzelese, Zapoyan, Vespasian, and Apjai. In 2016, Ardesia donated endemic Ardesian trees for the park.

Plaza Aucuria

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Kairys Street (North), and 61st Street (South). It features a statue of Aucurian hero Juozapas Kairys, along with the coat of arms of the Aucurian capital Kalnaspilis, with a plaque detailing its date of establishment. Although its most prominent feature is a 20 foot monument celebrating the 220 independence anniversary of Aucuria installed in 2005. In 2019 Aucuria donated two plaques in Ruttish to be placed in the plaza, it features the day of Aucurian independence, along with the motto of Aucuria.

Plaza Gapolania

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Gapolania Street (North), and 60th Street (South). The plaza was redesigned in 2018, and expanded. It features a monument to the Gapolanian-Vinalian Community, it features a bust of Erik Fernandes a prominent businessman. In 2019 Gapolania donated a plaque in Soravian with the Nassea Address of 1989, which began the process of Vinalian reunification.

Plaza Satavia

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Buyalskyi Street (North), and 59th Street (South). The plaza features a scale model of the Port Hope Opera House, along with a bust of Satavian Prime Minister Arthur O'Connell. On 59th street, Satavian Mall was built getting its name from the plaza, the mall features multiple cinemas, and stores, including numerous Satavian-Vinalian owned stores.

Plaza Satucin

Located in the intersection between the Asterias, Voshko Street (North), and 58th Street (South). The plaza features a large Crocodile statue, along with a bust of Premier Basile Delecour. The plaza features numerous streetfood stands, and is recognized as the best streetfood location in Southern Orlavo.
