Choi Iseul (born 18th of October 1999) is a Malgravean singer and television presenter. Choi Iseul first came to prominence as a member of the group, Venus, however, in recent years they've also become noted for hosting the television series Iseul can do it! in which the idol tries a number of challenges aimed around increasing awareness over several issues such as recycling, animal welfare and anti-littering campaigns.

Early Life

Choi Iseul was born in Aurora on the 18th of October 1999, at this time Malgrave was entering the final stages of the Lost Decade, at this time Aurora was also at the centre of preparations for the end of isolationism and undergoing an economic revival as a result of the renewed investment in the region.

Aurora's status as the largest maritime city in the country meant that Iseul was introduced to foreign culture at an early age, as sailors and tourists arriving from overseas returned with music and other cultural products from their homelands. Iseul gained a further appreciation for music through lessons at her local ASG centre which was further strengthened when she was able to see a Sakura Saito concert.

Musical Career

In 2015 Iseul was invited to join the idol training programme at Ascension Musical Productions, at this time Iseul engaged in the typical routine of providing support vocals and back-up dancing to groups like Eclipse as part of an initiative to impart experience and skills on young idols.

In 2018 Iseul was scheduled to debut as part of a group called Penguin Love, however, due to health issues within the group the project was disbanded, although the promotional pictures for this group including pictures of Iseul inside a penguin costume later gained notoriety online for its cuteness.

Following the failure of Penguin Love Iseul returned to providing support vocals, although in this time she was also able to sing a few OSTs for productions like Ancestral Guest House, Parenthood and Unity?. In 2020 Iseul was approached by Ascension Musical Productions about taking part in the 13th season of Music Idol Camp and after finishing in the top four was announced as a member of the new group, Venus.

Iseul quickly gained a reputation for her wide smile and cute antics, with the idol being nicknamed Dulce Pengwin or Sweet Penguin and Happy Vitamin by fans of Venus.

Television Career

In mid-2020 MBC announced that Iseul would take part in a new series called Iseul can do it!, a series in which Iseul would take part in various challenges aimed at increasing awareness over various issues. Iseul has since campaigned around issues such as increasing community spirit within apartment buildings and promoting environmental efforts designed to safeguard underwater communities in Mystria.

In 2022 Isuel was cast as Marisa Piovene in the series Travellers which she started in alongside fellow Venus member Moon Hye-Jin.
