Cjetor Micalesem Tamš (born Febuary 2, 1962) is a Seketese politician who has served as the leader of the National Conservative Party since July 20, 2021. Previously he served as the first Mayor of Honjynybek and as a Kjedorate MH during the 1980's.

Tamš identifies as a Kjedorate.

Early life

Tamš was born on 2 February 1962 in Honjynybek, Nelderjen. His father, originally an auto factory worker, worked his way up to senior manager at Wilynek Motors. His mother worked as an accountant at Wilynek as well. In high school, Tamš became the president of his schools Kjedorate club, and he participated in pro-government and anti-revolution protests during the 1978 Seketese revolution. Upon the completion of his mandatory military service in 1981, he attended Eytren Collage in Winneston for auto manufacturing, but never graduated.

Career

First term as MH

In 1984, while he was still attending collage, Tamš ran in the 1984 Seketese general election under the Kjedorate banner. He was one of two elected Kjedorates, as the party suffered a collapse in support after their leader Tim Hoerson promoted the return to authoritarian rule. Despite being in a small caucus and a freshman, Tamš was widely seen as one of the most active MH's.

Tamš' term as MH would come to an end in 1988 after the Kjedorates lost all their seats. After his first tenure, Tamš worked as a municipal administrator for Hojnynbek. In 1992 he officially left the Kjedorate Party.

Mayor

Municipal reforms under Prime Minister Jorgi Wethan led to the creation of the City of Hojnynbek and an elected mayor. Despite opposing such reforms, Tamš ran for mayor under the National Conservative banner, defeating Socialist candidate Kristen Cyesa to become the cities first democratically elected mayor. Tamš would go to be reelected twice in 1999 and 2003.

In 2002 Tamš attracted controversy for stating to a local newspaper that he "wishes he could rules this city by the throat". This was in response to the Honjynybek city assembly voting down his proposal to ban the building of a new mosque. Further controversy came after a 2003 leaked document showed that Tamš had a meeting with NatPol regional commander Cmd. Reslan in an attempt to convince him to arrest 3 city assembly members.

Second term as MH

In 2005, before the end of his third term as mayor, Tamš announced his intention to run for MH in the upcoming 2005 national election for the National Conservatives. He filed to run in Hojnynbek-Paerse, but the party placed him high on their Nelderjen list given his role as mayor of a major city in the province. While he failed to win his district, he was elected on the Nelderjen list. He has since been reelected in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2017, and 2021.

CNy leader

With the decimation of the CNy caucus in 2021, then leader Simone Laphjen stepped down as leader prompting a leadership contest. Tamš was quickly speculated to be a leading contender to replace Laphjen, and in June 2021 he announced his candidacy. With no other candidates stepping forward, Tamš was elected leader in July unopposed.

Political positions

Tamš identifies as a Kjedorate and is often marked as a key figure in the old Kjedorate party guard. He has also publicly espoused support for old regime leaders like Etyjen Pesan and Loren Allis, citing them as political inspiration. Being a Kjedorate, Tamš opposes Fjeskan autonomism, Trjebian language rights, the Nelborne Union and Nelbec Council, and has declared himself an "ardent anti-communist".
