The War of the Englean Diet, also known as the Seven Years' War or War of the Great Powers, was a major global conflict in Sunalaya. This conflict involved many great powers of Sunalaya and their possessions around the world, making the war effectively the first "world war."
The immediate cause of the war was an internal conflict between the Englean Reichstag and the Englean Emperor, in which the former attempted to implement reforms that would restrict the powers of the monarch and designate an alternate form of succession for the latter's office. Statutes such as determining succession based on popular vote and approval by the Reichstag, as well as permitting the Reichstag to dismiss a monarch, were not accepted by Emperor Albrecht I. The Emperor declared the dissolving of the Reichstag, which resulted in the Mandate of 1749, declaring the formation of the Englean Empire from the Kaiserreich under Albrecht and designated [person] as its new emperor. Emperor Albrecht declared war on the Congressional Empire, as it became known as, which brought about the start of the global war.
