Riisa Vanhala (15 June 1924) is a retired Balambian soldier who served during the Estharian Civil War and the Second Europan War.

Riisa is Oboe Company's youngest member, hence she is often looked after by Antonio Celeste, her commanding officer for the Esthar and Balamb contingent in the team. Despite having little training in combat, Riisa is an accomplished medical student. Being a member of the red cross, she was drafted immediately after shortage of health workers and medical personnel were prevalent in the Estharian Army. Despite her young age, she adapted well with her colleagues and had saved numerous lives. Later on, she was recognised by a Lucian Army envoy, who was looking for potential volunteers for a Special Operations unit. Together with her close friends that included her commanding officer, Antonio Celeste, Juho Hietanen, and Liisa Paasikivi, they were made official members of Oboe Company, a unit within the Special Air Service.

Following the war, Riisa married Juho Hietanen, her lover since 1944. She finished her studies was honourably discharged in 1953. She opened a clinic where her eldest child continues to run it.

He is the paternal grandmother of Rika Hietanen, an intelligence officer serving in the ILESOC during the Arachnid Drug War.
