Background

Imerian view

The war begun due to a Malgravean research facility by mistake activating a former Atumite spaceship and sending out a distress signal. An Imerian team realising this attempted to leave but were unable to do so due to being kept against their will in the facility. Being trapped so were the team forced to fight back with their Malgravean captors to avoid Goa'uld capture, however despite a both Malgraveans and Imerians fighting back so were the facility quickly overrun and the men taking prisoners dragging both nations before the ire of the mighty systemlord even if either state were unaware of this at the time.

Malgravean view

In an SIS report leaked to the RMT in 2017 it was revealed that the probable cause of the war was the accidental activation of a distress signal inside a crashed Atumite spaceship (the identity of the vessel being unknown at the time), and the subsequent killing of the Atumite team sent to investigate the signal. It also categorically states that the Imerian team was temporarily being held at the facility because several members of the Imerian team pretended to have a highly contagious disease and a new planet needed to be secured in order to cure the infected individuals and reduce the risk of spreading the disease. After the initial failed attempt to retreat the Atumites repeatedly assaulted the base until all of the defenders were killed or captured for interrogation.

Intervention Attempts

Other members of the Gryningsvägs Alliansen attempted to send assistance, including Operation Jackalope an ill-fated attempt to send assistance from Kouralia and a mooted Freestian defensive engagement by the Freestian Stellar Navy, neither of which arrived in time to have a significant effect during the campaign.

Malgravean Capitulation

When Atumite vessels started orbiting the mainland the Malgravean government immediately contacted the governments of the Freethinker Commonwealth and the Royal Union of Kouralia to inform them of the ongoing situation and remind them of the work they had done to implement ethical reforms in the research colony. At the same time, the government organised the 3rd Epping Mechanised Division, 2nd Pakosc Infantry Division, Tillingham Light Rifles and Wizna Royal Guard Battalion and immediately started to active all current units of the Territorial Defence Force alongside units of the Malgravean Royal Navy and the Malgravean Royal Air Force, these plans were scrapped however when Queen Helena Wells informed the government that she had accepted the demands of the Atumite forces and was preparing to surrender herself to a nearby Atumite vessel.

After being transported to an Atumite vessel and recognising the vast damage being inflicted upon the Imerian population Helena Wells also sent a message to the Imerian High King asking him to surrender to Atumite authorities in order to reduce further civilian casualties.

The Imerian Colonial aftermath

The absolute royal federation capitulated after the orbital bombardment begun and handed over high king Oskar II and crowning Primus as hte new high king. The absolute royal federation was massively damaged by the war, it's surface fleet all but gone and several realms rising up in rebellion, it was decided by the absolute royal federation that they needed to concentrate their forces on more holdable territory where support were larger. While this meant that some realms had to be abandoned entirely so did the quick support by Sydvinland, Imerian Africa, Austland, and Salwya (the three first being Scanderanised enough to consider themselves as Scanderan as the home continent and so very much a part of the ruling class, and the last most likely acting as an opportunist power using the situation to further it's own power). However while the home continent were struggling from the blow so did Imerian African troops and Sydvinland troops invade what is collectively known as the Sun realms or the sha'tuultro where they were supported largely by the Neko former slaves there that seemed more willing to support the new masters over the old ones, and generally not too keen on the world outside the federation. Either being seen as food or as nothing more than waifu foder.

Other realms stayed loyal like the recent colonies established during Oskar II rex Stjärnkhrones realm due to them being young enough to consider themselves Scanderan and lacking nationalistic identities outside of that. Similarly to the Nekos in the sun realms so did Leporidaeria stick with the federation since they had joined originally from their free will and would rather stay with the federation due to the protection and good will generated by the Scanderans. This good will came to the Scanderan military having protected them from the traditional hunts of their kind where they were processed as food in other countries. The Scanderan practice of drawing the blood eagle on anyone caught engaging in this activity were rather well liked. Also due to the limited control the crown had over the realm so were the federation mostly a boon for the people and an honour issue for the federation rather than an economic advantage. The dwarves in Krakborg similarly being genetically unable to break an oath stayed loyal and were used rather heavily as troops abroad to crush uprisings and got a rather fearsome reputation.

Other realms broke out in civil war though, with Gustavsland being one of the most obvious examples, the Vedians and the Urwo tribe that had formed the political leadership of the realm due to the traditional problematic position of the Urwo where other people hated them with a burning passion due to old tales of the Urwo being demon summoners that had once ruled the land with demonic legions. Unwilling to risk a new nation under their fellow countrymen to the west where they would be seen as collaborates as well as their traditional role as demon summoners and untouchables did they threw in their lot with the Scanderan colonists and were able to bring their countrymen to heel and swear fealty.

However that was as far as success went for the federation, and they had to abandon realms like the Nicksyllvanian colonies, only Nicksyllvania itself being ravished enough by the necron invasion earlier were unable to fight back and small scale troops from Scanderan colonies where the lack of a native population were able to subdue the realms. However larger realms such as Northern Venezue, Chanjing, Ramir, and Salonia were forced to be abandoned to their fate with local nobles being granted power as the federation withdrew their forces to fight where they were needed which resulted in massive loss of land. Similarly were Sirmera entirely abandoned but remains part of the federation due to the lack of habitable land or locals.

However after two years were the situation mostly stabilised with foreign allied aid and loyal troops resulting in large changes political for the federation as Sydvinland, Imerian africa, Austland, and Salwya, or the four loyal sons, rose to prominence and the Nekos being very much furthered in social standing in the realms where the Sun worshippers were kept in the federation. However after two years with industrialisation in the four loyal sons and rebuilding of the navy and resettlement of the home continent so are the federation slowly reading itself. With the war in the sun realms ending after [the Sha’Tuulmel], or sun people, now under the leadership of Shah Sha'Molu of the Neko race being raised to the rank of High culture with the Salwyans and promises of colonial expansion of their own when the federation once again began to expand. However despite the re-arming effort and the industrialisation under Allanean oversight and military support are the federation still very scared, looking suspiciously around, xenophobia against aliens or voidspawn are rising. As people generally see the alien as the aggressors without a casus beli and Malgraveans are seen as honourless swines of the worst degree. The lack of clear motive from the alien makes a lot of Scanderans wonder if they planned to take over the world but were beaten back due to earlier Scanderan ground victories. However despite this is the federation fortifying itself more and more while at the same time trying to reach out for political support from their neighbours, if one would want to influence the federation and the Scanderans so would now be the time as they continue to look worried at the world around them, the home continent shattered and the people of the four loyal sons holding on to what they have gained.

Despite that however so have the absolute royal federation not relinquished their claim to the lost realms and the federation might be planning to reclaim them in the future.

Atumite Looting

Atumite forces successfully took control of the Imerian stargate facility, and systematically looted everything within it after the surrender, including the stargate itself, several captive goa'uld larvae, who were taken home and given hosts, and a zero point module.

Additionally, the Atumite forces stole not less than thirteen hundred Scanderan Shagrats from nearby settlements.
