French language in Seketan

French is the mother tongue of approximately 30,000 people in Seketan and is estimated to be spoken as a second language by at least half a million. Although French has no official status in Seketan, the language is often used in for academics, business, and diplomacy.
An overwhelming majority of native speakers live in Conelibek and its surrounding area. French is the historical language of the Seketese Jewish community in Conelibek descended from French Jewish refugees who emigrated during World War II.
