AllVidz is an Vitosian online video-sharing web platform headquartered in Diarora, Cunzava, Vitosium. Ezio Battiano, Gardio Tufelli-Mandl, and Maiorico Belitrov, three programming graduates from the University of Diarora, created the service in November, 2004.

AllVidz allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to playlists, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users. It offers a wide variety of user-generated videos, as well as editing and broadcasting tools. Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, short and documentary films, music videos, movie trailers, live streams, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. The site focuses on the delivery of high-definition video across a range of devices.

Most of the content on AllVidz is uploaded by individuals. Unregistered users can watch, but not upload, videos on the site, while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos and add comments to videos. Age-restricted videos are available only to registered users affirming themselves to be at least 18 years old.

AllVidz and selected creators earn advertising revenue from AllVidz AdSense, a program that targets ads according to site content and audience. As of 2016, there were more than 400 hours of content uploaded to AllVidz each minute and almost one billion hours of content being watched on AllVidz every day.

History

2004 Founding

Ezio Battiano, Gardio Tufelli-Mandl and Maiorico Belitrov were all room-mates in the University of Diarora. While all three studied programming together and became fast friends, Battiano and Belitrov also studied computer science while Tufelli-Mandl also studied design.

In early 2004, Battiano noticed Nina Calisari accidentally expose herself during a sports event, leading to a conversation with the other two about capturing notable moments and finding a better way to share them around the world and discuss them. Along with Tufelli-Mandl talking about sharing memories with others in general, all three of them eventually came up with the concept for AllVidz, known as VidTube as a placeholder name. While they argued what kinds of videos should be uploaded, they eventually decided that all videos being accepted would help bring in a broader demographic.
