The VMS Confianca Bombing was a suicide attack by the terrorist group al-Fijar against the VMS Confianca, a Vitosium Navy frigate, while she was being refueled in Coragem Harbour in Davenport, Navocalco, Vitosium on October 1st, 2020. A total of forty Vitosium Navy personnel, five civilians and one of the attackers were killed or later died as a result of the attack, and fifty-two were injured. One of the two surviving attackers, Bargin bin Hadaf, were arrested by the BVI minutes after the attack. The identity and location of the remaining surviving bomber is unknown at this time.

The Attack

Around 9:10am on October 1st, fourteen civilians were seen among around one hundred and twelve navy personnel in Coragem Harbour. The VMS Confianca had made a temporary stop to refuel while the civilians were nearby on their yachts. Security cameras picked up three of the navy personnel placing explosives on the side of the boat, getting the attention of five of the civilians who noticed minutes before the explosions. The civilians were seen trying to notify the navy personnel. However, at 9:25am, the explosives detonated and a large explosion rang out, killing many including one of the three bombers responsible for the attack. The BVI were at the scene within five minutes and managed to arrest a suspect, an accountant from Ovavo named Bargin bin Hadaf. Around 1:00 pm, evidence surfaced connecting bin Hadaf to the bombing, evidently securing his arrest.

Results of the Interrogation

During the interrogation, which began around 1:30 pm, bin Hadaf was very open about the operation, saying that there were three bombers and it was destined to be a suicidal mission for all three of them. However only one, who he identified as Fatin Abboud, a graphic designer from Pia, Ciunia, had passed on. Bargin bin Hadaf spoke of the Prime Minister's speech on September 21st as to why the attack on Vitosium "happened sooner than expected".

During Prime Minister Vincent Gatostico's speech surrounding the recent bombings around the world, including the Air Andaluni Flight 553 bombing, from Al-Fijar, he had said, "Al-Fijar are nothing but cowards. They believe they are doing the right thing but nobody wins when you resort to terrorism!"

Bargin bin Hadaf also shouted that Vitosium deserves to suffer for the killing of Al-Fijar leader Mukhtar Babu Ubair in a Zamastanian airstrike in Haruya, Jaginistan on September 28th. There is no evidence linking Vitosium to any role his death. The bomber also taunted the agents, telling them that there were many more to come and accidentally, albeit possibly intentionally, that there was a third bomber among them. Bin Hadaf, however, refused to speak the name of said third bomber, despite being initially open to discuss the attack.
