Aristides Marcelinho Ramiro Queiroz is a legendary Vitosian chef, restaurateur, and television personality. He was also one of six people to help start Cuisine Network in 1992. He also founded Queiroz Restaurants, Ltd., which now belongs to Dean Queiroz as of 2006.

Early Career

Television Career

In 1969, at the age of 27, Aristides' culinary hero, Donny Lopez, was recruiting chefs to appear alongside him, one per episode, in the fourth season of his show, Cooking With Donny Lopez. He would apply and succeed, appearing in Season 4, Episode 11. This was notable in his life as he was finalizing his divorce with Ester Hernandes when he applied.

In 1973, he would be recruited for a few episodes of a humour-based cooking show (What's For Supper?) that was premiering its second season. This show saw him interact with other famous Vitosian chefs at the time like Marcos Medeiros, Ralph Gray and Stanley Sousa.

Due to his appearance on "What's For Supper?", Donny Lopez would recognize Queiroz from his own show. He would have him appear as a regular in Season 9, Episodes 2, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 14. This would propel Aristides Queiroz' television career exponentially and net him his first show the next year.

September 1975 would mark the premiere of his first show, Navocalcan Cooking, named after the fact that Queiroz grew up in the Vitosian province of Navocalco. As a special thank you to Donny Lopez, Aristides had him appear for a few episodes in the first season where he dedicated one of them to him. Lopez and him became great friends soon after this, something Queiroz had dreamed of. After 6 seasons over the span of five years, producers wanted to have the 80s mark a "new Aristides".

1980 would introduce the world to "The Queiroz Cooking Hour", which proved to be even more popular. Queiroz, himself, would become Executive Producer in 1982. Due to this change in the show's administration, he took it upon himself to get creative, albeit with a majority vote from the group of Executive Producers. This made the show even more popular, where it would become one of the more legendary shows of the era.

In 1992, he would help create Cuisine Network where he would continue "The Queiroz Cooking Hour". This came about due to the new management at the old network trying to take over many of the shows there. While that management didn't last due to the financial losses, Queiroz, one of the other Executive Producers and four other people from the network, would leave and start Cuisine Network. Queiroz would manage to win full ownership of "The Queiroz Cooking Hour" in a major lawsuit in 1991 before the new network's launch.

In 2006, at the age of 64, Aristides' Cuisine Arena would air its final season with Queiroz stating that he was retiring from both cooking and from television, wanting to sit back and continue to manage Cuisine Network. He would pass down his restaurants to his oldest son, Dean, who was the only Queiroz child to pursue culinary. In 2017, Queiroz would retire entirely and personally picked his replacement on the network's board, Ed Saldanha.

Net Worth

As of January 1st, 2022, his net worth has been estimated to be $630 million due to his culinary career as well as his now-former position on the Cuisine Network's board of directors.
