Vang Jun (born July 29, NMR 2311) is a Namorese statesman who served as the head of state of the Autonomous Republic of Txotai from NMR 2365 to NMR 2375 and is currently serving as the Minister of Ethnic Minority Affairs under the administration of President-General Antelope Shohai. He is the son of Vang Lan, Txotai's inaugural head of state.

Biography

Early Life and Career

Vang was born in Kusef, the prefectural capital of Txotai in July 29, NMR 2311.

Governor of Lagania

In Txotai's first local elections in NMR 2358, Vang ran for Governor of Lagania Prefecture as an independent. He was readily elected governor, defeating TAOP opponent Yasha Alexei by a wide margin.

Vang focused on building a "prosperous law and order society." He increased trade with neighboring Shanpei and encouraged migration from outside the region by mandating that small businesses that are deemed to have "contributed greatly to Lagania's economic development" are exempt from paying prefectural taxes. At the same time, he expanded the powers of local law enforcement agencies so that they can more effectively combat extremists and separatists. As a result of these measures, Lagania experienced double-digit economic growth under Vang's watch. It was also known as one of the safest places in Txotai, although detractors also compared it to a police state, citing the local police's expanded powers.

In NMR 2360, Vang announced his decision to become a member of the Liberationist Party. Although some speculated that his break with nonpartisanship would harm his chances of winning reelection, it did not have a major impact and Vang was reelected governor.

Head of State of Txotai

Ahead of the NMR 2365 regional election, Vang ran on behalf of the Unity camp. His father, Vang Lan, declined to endorse him to avoid nepotism allegations, although his family poured millions of ramon to assist his campaign. Vang ultimately defeated his Autonomy camp opponent, becoming Txotai's second head of state.

National politics

Three years into his governorship, Vang was nominated the Liberationist presidential candidate for the NMR 2368 election. He, not Txo Antelope, was nominated in an effort by the party to distance itself from the Antelope political dynasty. Nevertheless, Vang performed poorly in the polls and won only around 10% of the popular vote. Having lost the election, he returned to regional politics and continued to serve as Txotai's head of state.

Vang returned to the national political theater in NMR 2373, running for Secretary-General during the 26th Party Congress. He failed to win the secretaryship, securing only 9 out of 87 votes in the Party Central Committee.

In NMR 2378, Vang was appointed Minister of Ethnic Minority Affairs by Antelope Shohai, marking the first time in years that the Minority Affairs Minister is not ethnically non-Kannei.
