Aalitonja (Seketese: Aalitonya), officially the City Municipality of Aalitonja (Seketese: Vila-Komyn á Aalitonya) is a city municipality the Seketese province of Nelderjen. Located on the Aalitonja plains, the municipality is an amalgamation of several towns and farming villages. With a population of 202,747, it is the 2nd largest district in Nelderjen and the 8th largest in Seketan. It is also the geographically largest city-municipality in Seketan.
Politically, Aalitonja was classified as a district, with Erise, North Ayija, and St. Jase being local cities with their own mayors and councils. In 2011, under the Local Associations Act, 2011 the district was amalgamted into one city-municipality, thereby abolishing the local cities and their governments in favour of one central municipal counil and mayor.
The area today is often known as the Farming Capital of Seketan, with food production being a major industry in the city and the wider Aalitonja plains making up for nearly 40% of Seketan's farmland production.
