The Grand Ducal Army
The Grand Ducal Army is the military force of the Grand Duchy of Japuile. It is made up of three Grand Branches: the Grand Army, the Grand Navy, and the Grand Air Forces. Each branch is headed by a General, who is responsible for overseeing the operations of that branch. In the absence of clear decision-making or the need to divide attention into multiple units, the Grand Duke may be called upon to join the General Staff.
The Grand Ducal Army is controlled by three "groups": the Military Disciplinary Commission, which exercises military control over the army; the Royale Marshal; and civilian commissions (both of which must have military experience or be well-versed in military realities). Ultimately, each soldier is responsible to the Grand Duke. A vow is legally binding, similar to a contract.
The current branches of the Grand Ducal Army are as follows:
Grand Army: includes the Gendarmerie and Military Police, as well as a medical service. Grand Air Forces: includes the Joint Supply Forces and the Forces of the Future (Rockets, Missile Defense, and Anti-Aircraft Defense). Grand Navy: includes the Shore Guard, Hydro-Land Forces (Marines), and Emergency Service. In addition to these official branches, the Grand Ducal Army also includes unofficial units known as "Modern War" units. These units focus on information warfare and are not currently overseen by any of the Generals. They operate independently, using all branches of the army to carry out their actions. Special forces are also independent units that use the resources of all branches of the army to perform their missions.

1/4 of the budget is accounted for by the rest of the Grand Ducal Army's forces of smaller branches.
