Cormac Hammer was the 78th Congressman representing Pahl's 18th District, which includes his birth city of Emerald. He is notable for his role in the Delavian Bribery Scandal, in which he opened articles of investigation and ethics violations into President Zacharias Castovia's winter vacation to a private island owned by Tauren Delavian (for whom the trial was named). In the end, President Castovia was cleared of charges, but his Chief of Staff, Emily Miranda, was found guilty or receiving bribes and exchanging promises of vote-telling. Congressman Hammer himself was eventually found guilty through self-incrimination on his own bribery scandals after paying a Tofino Times journalist to find evidence illegally. He was impeached on February 9th, 2019, and was sentenced to two years in federal prison by special prosecutor Cairo Gough. Prior to his arrest, he was known as one of President Castovia's staunchest critics, and many experts believe his investigation was an attempt to gain greater political traction and possibly assume the position of the Chamber Speaker from Foley Sakzi.
