Krastheim (Rhumkara: Krastheivor), officially known as the Technocratic Council of Krastheim (Rhumkara: Aesthrani Krastheivor), is an insular dwarven nation situated on two primary island chains, Morndhural and Thar-Khazak. Renowned for its advanced crystal technology, Krastheim has a population of approximately 300,000 and is primarily inhabited by the Nithrad, the nation’s dwarven race. The capital city, Site 1 (Atha-Rhem), functions as the central hub for government and crystal energy distribution. Site 1 hosts the offices of Krastheim's three Ministers (Karn), who lead the High Council (Vorgalun Rhun) and manage the nation’s technocratic governance.

Krastheim’s foundation lies in its survival and unity following the Great Restart, during which only the lucky few Nithrad dwarves narrowly escaped extinction. In the aftermath, they established a centralized government known as the High Council, aimed at maximizing resource management and crystal energy utilization on their islands. Three prominent offices, Minister of Resource Extraction (Karn-Garh Rendar), Minister of Shard Utilization (Karn-Garh Aethras), and Minister of Invention (Karn-Garh Nolmath), were created to oversee critical aspects of society. Despite longstanding stability, the nation experienced one significant upheaval, the Site B-1 Crisis, wherein the Minister of Shard Utilization engaged in a power struggle within the High Council, leading to temporary disruption in energy policies and usage protocols.

The Nithrad society deeply reveres the Aetherium Shards, with the largest of these located in Site 1, powering the main island, Sharmund (Shar-Mhond). Krastheim is a techno-gerontocracy confederation, valuing expertise and wisdom in governance. High Council members are elected based on a combination of technical skill and age, ensuring experienced leadership. Ministers are selected from the council itself, guided by consensus on technical proficiency and dedication to Aetherium principles, reflecting the Nithrad’s belief in knowledge and unity under the Shards' guidance.
